I purchased this as a means to reminisce, because I used to roll deep with a crew full of G's. I got out because my baby mama was givin' me grief. She was worried about me not being there one day, she wanted me to bring it proper, walk the straight and narrow. Anyway, this is the heat. Any book that lets you experiment with Biggy and Nas's wardrobe in different shades of blue is aight in my book. I bought it for every kid in my sunday school class. I found out a few weeks later that they hit the corner in their low low and beat their first trick. I heard they're in the market for firearms without serial numbers now. I'm so proud of all of them. It's good knowing I've helped another generation learn how to skate on haters who perpetrate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Conversation Piece, May 12, 2007

Buy this book, leave it right out on the coffee table during a party or visitors, and watch the hilarious reactions. The conversation over the great pages of rappers usually turns into a lively debate on who was the greatest rapper of all time. They are all in here: Biggie, Pac, KRS One, Cube, 50 Cent... about 40 in all. Just be sure to hide it sometime during the party, or you'll wake up the next day and find someone has colored-in your DMX. GREAT BOOK!

I bought my husband this coloring book for Christmas as a bit of a gag gift. It is sitting on our coffee table now and is a great conversation piece. We are entertained by the entire thing. If you want a funny gift to give just about anyone, except children, get it. Great humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recapture your youth, December 9, 2010
This review is from: Gangsta Rap Coloring Book (Paperback)
Elias is my friend, he got me this for Christmas. I love that you can choose your own colors, you know, so I can "represent' with whatever colors I choose. Now I can 'keep it real" in my living room.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gangsta Rap Coloring Book, January 2, 2011

I bought the "Gangsta Rap Coloring Book" for my brother for Christmas as a gag gift. Then I picked up some crayons at the local drugstore. Not bad for around $10. He loved. I loved it. Actually everyone laughed when they saw it. Then everyone wanted to take turns picking out someone they knew and wanted to color in (Eazy-E, 2Pac, MC Ren, Ice Cube, Geto Boys, 50 Cent, DMX, etc.).

This coloring book would be great for a party. Coloring is always fun, even as a grown-up. It's even funner/ funnier when you're coloring in gangsta rappers.

The only complaint I did have is that a few of the rappers are not really well-known (what or who is "Gingerbread Man"?). Also, another reviewer mentioned that the details are quite minimal on the drawings, and while that is true, it doesn't take away from the fun.

Overall, a lot of fun for a great price. Definitely recommended.

No, wait, I'm being sarcastic. This is a great novelty gift for preschoolers. No, no, I meant for hip cynical adults. Yeah, that's it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ehhhh, January 24, 2007

The concept of this book is good, and many classic rappers/groups are depicted, but the art is lacking. The line-drawings are very simple, with little detail. A good coloring book has lots of detail to make it fun to color; if someone were to actually color in this book, it would get pretty boring. The book's only saving grace is the Bone Thugs page... that one's pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Real...?, December 16, 2011

A color book full of thugs. Some alive, some dead. Unique, interesting. For me (a total non-gangsta) this book is just an oddity. I like to color, and it's a nicely done colorbook for adults.
