Straight Up Garbage!!!!,
By
This review is from: Gangstress (Audio CD)
I'll be honest, I bought this B.S. Don't ask me why the cover alone should have been enough to turn me or anyone away. I kinda felt a few songs, off her first cd so I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt with this one. Boy was I wrong. This cd is straight up garbage. She is talking about absolutley nothing, and she says the same things over and over and over and over. Then she's even taking from the first cd and repeating things over and over. This cd is a straight up out the basement production. Khia needs to leave it alone. She trying to diss other female rappers, talking about they gettin pimped by the men in the industry, well it looks like to me, being pimped is all I can see in this poor child's future.

Khia, please go away. You're ugly (not to be superficial) and disgusting. Leave the music biz, get some rap lessons, or fix those teeth. Frankly, I think you'll have better luck with the first thing. Seriously, Khia has singlehandedly destroyed female rappers' credibility. If you want real female rap with a hint of humor, grab "Blacks' Magic" by Salt-N-Pepa, or any album by them. It is from when hip-hop had a meaning (to fight social injustices), unlike today, when rap is a complete mess of "gangstas" and their "h0s".

A mind is a terrible thing to waste-this CD is proof!,

Once again, the "queen" (?) of illiterate ghetto garbage gangster (c)rap is at it again (with apologies to my friends and family still in the hood)! Somebody needs to chain the record studio doors and add armed guards to keep this poor child from wasting good Cd space again!
I was at my nephew's apartment last weekend and he was wasting electricity by playing this junk. I asked "Who the heck is that?" "Queen of the South" he replied. "If that's so, I'm moving out west!" was my rejoiner. Once again, as in "Thug Misses," sister girl is having a field day displaying her ignorance on wax. The reasons she gives to "Respect Me" aren't any reason for anyone to do as the title suggests. The "song" B--MFGD" is little more than the chanting of these curse words that seem to represent about 90% of her VERY limited vocabulary. In "Ah-Ha" she has the audacity to thank God for her success while spouting some most typically unGodly language toward her distractors, or "them @@##$$! @#$ haters" as she puts it. F--- Me Tonight is WAY more sleazy than sexy and "Questions for the N(egroes)" could have easily been recorded off of a streetcorner conversation between drunken bimbos. Khia, there are these places called schools and libraries-go to them! Yeah, I know, some of the fellas are making worse records than this (Believe it or not!) and I have equally condemned them in other posts. So there's no double standard here. Trash is trash in my book. In short, this is Khia's second sickening collection of poorly written sexual boasts and hatred for her distrators. Take this CD out for target practice! Use it as a frisbee! Just don't pollute your CD player with it or use hard earned money to support the continuation of recorded ignorance. To break the language down for those illiterate enough to like this mess-DON'T BUY THIS JUNK!

This is the wackest, lamest, dumbest album I have ever heard in my entire life. Seriously, the beats are too homemade sounding, lyrics... lyrics, are HORRIBLE, I mean she didn't even try really. The only song where she really has a flow is "For The Love of Money" but the beat is wack. Who signed her??!!?!

Okay, just about everyone said the correct things about this album. Listening to this album, it is very trashy (and not just the content either). The same person who brought us the one hit wonder single "My Neck, My Back" off the horrible Thug Misses album back in summer of '02 brings us this right here. It's music right here that has rap (and sometimes hip hop) given a bad name, because if it's explicitness. Khia just adds to the cesspool of what is going on in rap (especially with the female rappers bad reputation).
Not only the explicit content that goes on in this album. Everything else is horrible. Production is unbarrable. And Khia shows no improvement since her last album (take it from someone who has listened to that...as well as this). Infact it's possible that she's gotten worse in the past 4 years. Don't even put this in your CD player, because it will be pain on the lenses. You may want to use this as a frisbee or something to break buds on if you smoke, or a drink coaster, because it doesn't deserve to be heard. There is nothing good about this album at all. And it's true, there are people (such as those who gave this 5 stars) will think this is the best they've ever heard. Apparently she's fooled over 800,000 people (the amount of records shes sold according to the product description). I SERIOUSLY question your taste for music if you give this 2 stars. My cousin is a fan of that type of music, and I saw this at his house and just happened to check it out one day, and was supprised that I made it through this. Now I don't like leaving 1 star reviews with out giving advice to the artest. If Khia wishes to remain in the game, she is going to need to do a 360 change with her style, becuase what shes got going on right now is highly unacceptable. Favorite Tracks: None At All!

I want to know how Khia can wake up and look herself in the mirror every morning. This CD is vulgar. Everything that comes out of Khia's mouth is raunchy and just straight up dumb. She wants people to "respect" her? Hoodrats don't get respect. She's been called a b!tch, but she's never been called a h0e! Well, let me be the first to call her one! Other than that, there isn't anything likeable or positive about this CD at all. Just trash. This is the worst album of 2006. Believe that!

Khia is one of the worst female MC's (most confused) ever! She raps about trash and looks like trash too. Gangstress?!?!?!?! Why don't you try being a woman, mother, and a respectable person first! The lyrics on this album are poor. The beats are corny and the whole concept behind this album is commercial and lame just like the first one. Make sure to get a gander of all the hoodrat pictures on the cover!!!! LOL!!

Abundantly Ignorant Hoodrat Music {1 Star},
By
This review is from: Gangstress (Audio CD)
I know I'll be labeled a hater or something by the zombies and sheep, but someone has to tell the truth here.
I'll start off by stating the obvious, Khia has no skills. The production is straight garbage and the skits are the dumbest I've heard since the Heather Hunter album. What scares me the most is that there are people out there that think this is good music. I would've never heard it if a friend hadn't left it in my car when I dropped her off at her house. If you're used to reading my reviews and are looking for a space reserved for positive aspects, then let me save you some time. There are none. Well, there's always a use for this CD as a drink coaster. Simply put, the level of ignorance being displayed on this album is astounding. I think there's a good reason why Khia isn't signed to a real label. Khia is merely selling hoodrat music to current and aspiring hoodrats. Albums like this set black people back 30 years. What's even scarier is that some 14 year old will get a hold of this poison and end up with a warped mind. If you buy this, do us all a favor and at least keep it away from any impressionable young girls that you happen to come across. I recommend steering clear of this garbage LP though. Two thumbs WAY down. Standout Tracks: None

Studio Gangstress,
By Nuisance "the rebel" (Miami) - See all my reviews

Let me start by saying that Khia is the most dumbest and worst female rapper Ive ever heard in my life! If the last album didnt prove how garbage she is then this one will. The production is painfully bad and her lyrics are kindergarten trash. Her album in a nutshell is sex, weak subliminal disses at other female rappers, men cheating on her, how bad she thinks she is and long and pointless skits. Khia made history as the first female rapper who single-handedly destroyed the game and any respect you might have had for female rappers. Yet this gremlin calls her self the "queen of the south" (b---h please!). Selling garbage albums never made anybody a queen! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this gargoyle's album! Oh yeah I also have to respond to that statement she made about guys buying Trina's albums because they want to f--- her. Uhh Khia who looks at you on your album cover in that tacky position and isnt thinking about sex? Naive b---h! Learn how to spell r e s p e c t you ugly d---!

Snatch Your Money Back,
This review is from: Gangstress (Audio CD)
I'll admit it, I was a fan of Khia's only hit "My Neck, My Back (Lick It)". It's a fun song.. sure it's hard to ignore redundant, Lil' Kim wannabe swagger of the song, but it was catchy. The album it was from, "Thug Misses", however, wasn't a good album by any stretch of the imagination. Despite having amazing song titles like "F*** Dem F*** N*****" and "F*** Dem Other H***" it prove to be a plodding and uninteresting listen. Khia simply doesn't have the personality, or flow or lyrics to support an entire album's worth of material. Her delivery is an interesting as someone listing pizza toppings to you over the phone and her beats sound cheap and hollow. In fact, the interludes were more captivating than any of the songs on the album.
"Gangstress", Khia's second album suffers from all the same problems as her first album, but for some odd reason the result is ten times worse than before. The interludes are not funny and there are 11 of them. That's right... 11 interludes/skits, and not one is funny or interesting. Not to mention that sound quality of most these is so bad that you can barely make out what's being said. From the 12 remaining songs, there are some listenable tracks ("I've Been High", "Ah Ha" and "Snatch The Cat Back") but the rest of the songs are interchangeable, deep bass, minimalist beats that go on for upwards of 5 minutes. "Respect Me", a song that clocks over 5 minutes of Khia misspelling Respect ("You have to R E S P C respect me") and giving eye-rolling reasons as to why she deserves respect. Sure, she does her beats and lyrics herself, but they are awful... so who cares? "Thug Misses" and "Gangstress" are NOTHING to brag about, and neither is being a One Hit Wonder. First time I heard "Respect Me", I seriously said aloud to myself: "Does this song... end??" The chorus must be repeated somewhere close to 50 times. Once you've heard "Respect Me" you can turn off your stereo, because this is what the entire album sounds like. Khia produced "Gangstress" herself and you can tell. The concert footage on the bonus DVD packaged with "Gangtress" basically sums Khia up. Boring (she stands in one spot and raps), bizarre (does every one of her shirts have to be sheer??) and cheap (the audio is distorted and the camera work is shaky, at best). Skip "Gangstress", unlike "Thug Misses", it doesn't even have a guilty pleasure hit on it. "Snatch The Cat Back" is the closest thing, but is far from the smile-and-sing-along quality that "My Neck, My Back" had. |
