Gantz is in imo the one the most realistic films/shows ever.It's disturbingly acccurate in the way it portrays humans and the way they react in situations. Reminds me of the film the Mist,where the protagonists are battling aliens yet the real monsters seem to be the humans.Yes there are aliens(you will be surprised at the aliens)and very deep social morals in every episode.It has gore,profanity,and nudity too.But if you are mature and you love women,that shouldnt bother you or distract from the point of the series. Its a series in which the main characters have very real personalities and they grow as the series goes along because they have to make some strong decisions like taking lives to save lives.I really felt like I knew the protagonists more and more as the series progressed.Its too complex of a plot to describe more and I feel like that could cheat the viewer.Gantz is really just pure genius and might be the best anime ever.Its two seasons( 3rd season one day?), 26 episodes in an ultra cool black sphere(yes the dvds are safe from getting scratched),the english dubbing is the best Ive ever heard,great animation.This show will stay on your mind for sure whether you like it or not and may even make you value life more.Well worth your time and money.

The Gantz Perfect Score arrived on time, but in a condition that could not possibly be described as "new" as the box the dvds come in had clearly been opened already, and the bottom half of the ball was scratched. I contacted the seller and received a prompt response, saying I would be sent a replacement. The replacement was in only slightly better condition; however, I love this series and it's at a great price so I decided to keep it. Really the only reason I gave a 4/5 was for the condition it came in; this is a 5/5 series!

I love gantz, had good animation, characters, and scenes, only one thing got to me, how long it was, the manga is way longer than this, but oh well, what can ya do?

This series is a very mixed bag. If you can handle the over the top vulgarity, obscenity, and gore there is actually a good story lying beneath it all. The story is both the best and worst part. See, it's a great story, but the anime ruins it. The last disc is comprised entirely (save for the first episode on it) of non-manga made up story. It gives a very sloppy and absolutely ridiculous ending, and never ties a single thing up. This is a pretty series, it looks great, and is fun to watch, but it will leave you running for the manga.

The case itself is fairly nice. The top of the ball pops off to have this little fold out holder for the discs. No complaints here.

In closing, this is a fun anime if you don't mind some very vulgar moments. If you like the story I recommend the manga so you can see what actually happens.

So you probably already know how awesome the anime is so Ill tell you about the product. Its GIANT! Well its a lot bigger than I thought. The picture makes it look small but the box is really big so don't expect it to fit in your mail box. I bought mine used but its still in pretty good shape, orbs scratched a bit (its metal) but its ok. The sphere pops open and holds the dvds folded up, foam inside. The box is about 8in and the orb is about 6in tall. On the front of the orb it has Gantz and on the back it says 100 points: Perfect Score. Overall I think this is an awesome piece to have for any Gantz fan.

I did not buy this on amazon.com, but i know a good anime when i see it, this is one of those once in a lifetime animes. I watched it with people who did not even know what anime was, and now they are hooked on it. Well, good anime anyway. This really raises the bar on what a good anime should contain and what you should expect. Most animes are saturday morning BS or just plain immature. But this has all the elements of an adult anime and puts in double quality of content. It will get you to think and you may even find things in common with good and bad characters. HOWEVER, if you dont like a slow paced show, you need to watch the movie first, it is straight to the point. But if you dont watch this, its one of those things you will eventually regret not seeing sooner. The music always sets the perfect mood as well!!!!

Certain characters in this series get their just dessert, you gotta see the series to see what i'm talking about.

I am new to anime, but this particular series caught me by surprise because it was fun to watch, even the gore and the mayhem, so now I am into purchasing the mangas for Gantz because the only fail with the anime is the ending which makes NO SENSE what so ever. As for the packaging, I was on the phone immediately due to crude condition the DVD's came in........crushed outer package and dented ball. In my opinion if it wasn't for the metal ball, the DVD's would be damaged beyond repair, so that's the reason why I give it 3 stars instead of the four stars that I would recommend for the ownership and viewing of this collection.

Well it said new but I have to question that. I just opened it up and the seal was already broken on the box and the mettalic dvd case was all scratched up on the bottom so I have to question the new part but... still looks awesome sitting on my shelf and I am glad it is now finally part of my collection.

Gantz is without a doubt one of my favorite Animes of all time, and that says a lot. The strength of Gantz lie in its unmitigated action and its depictions of humanity through adverse circumstances. A blood and gore fest from the first episode to the last, Gantz really does deliver for those anime fans looking for graphic depictions of action and sex, although in some scenes the discussion seems superfluous or improbable at times. Another strength of Gantz is its good character development through the 26 episode series. With no "fillers" or superfluous scenes, Gantz takes time in between the major battles to develop the relationships of the main characters. When some characters die or almost die, you will likely care. This strong characterization also becomes a weak point of the story, in that secondary characters become even more compelling than the protagonist. Although the protagonist Kei is a really good character, I found myself wishing that his counterpart Masaru Kato was the protagonist. (Watch the Anime and you'll see what I mean.) The Anime also lacks satisfactory closure; the ending will leave you saying "HUH?" With The Anime being based on a currently ongoing japanese manga series, there was no ending to base the anime on. This,however, is no excuse for the type of unsatisfactory ending found at the end of the Anime. As a to the ambiguous ending,the viewer of Gantz will likely find themselves doing as I did: Picking the manga and reading it to find out what happens further, which is well worth it. This is overall a good Anime not to be missed for sure. Buy it and you'll be wishing there were more episodes.

I got this as a gift for my brother so I only saw one Ep. it's a good anime, bloody, mature and nudity from what I saw. it kinda reminds me of Elfen Lied.
