Sound FX kick off this classic collection. The Leather Boy must be one of the first to use sound effects on a rock and roll record to such great effect ~ BLISTERING motorcycle engine noises get you in the mood for some high octane 60s garage. Alice Cooper's early recording with The Spiders is a real snotty punker. Cooper was the son of a preacher and rebelled from the outset. Don't Blow your Mind - this tune will. Gypsy Girl (Vinnie Basile & the Staaccatos) and Joanne (The Grim Reapers) cool things off towards the end as the tempo settles down. But don't think that they lose any of the energy of teen frustration, this collection is pure garage punk to the last. Don't cry on your acid tabs! |
