Funny and Sexy, February 22, 2006
This movie is a great one to watch with the girls or when u really want to laugh. The eye candy John Abraham (Sam) and Akshay Kumar (Mac) make a lovely hilarious duet that will steal your heart. Sam and Mac are friends who work in this hip magazine "Garam Masala" as photographers, they always get in trouble because of their uncontrollable madness for beautiful women. The fun starts when Mac who is engaged to sweet Anjali(Rimi Sen), is having affairs with 3 gorgeous air-hostesses Sweety (Neetu Chandra), Puja (Nargis) and Deepti (Daisy Bopanna). Dating the girls is Mac's dream come true but it will start all kinds of trouble for him when they all stay in his apartment at the same time. Mac will try his best to manage those affairs and Sam will try to help him but also try to snatch the girls behind his friend's back. A lot of funny scenes and amazing hot songs. I've always thought that John was a hot hunk but now I think he's "Garam Masala".
This DVD also includes some very nice bonus material, an interview with the cast ( is that a love bite on john's right arm?!!), the movie premier and a hilarious interview with John and Akshay where you can really see how great, funny, hot and sexy John is.

Men behaving badly- and not my sort of comedy, November 28, 2008
A prior reviewer found this a 5 star one and one for the girls. Well two of us girls watched it and found it very unfunny and the 2 guys very unlikeable.
I'm glad I'd seen Akshay in 'Namastey London' and 'Singh is Kingg' as this movie may have made me avoid those enjoyable movies. His character scowls a lot and yells a lot at times in a fast grating monotone voice. I don't find John Abraham my sort of guy - even if many find him a classic hunk. His 'cool' looks a bit withdrawn around the eyes rather than the open emotional look the Indian males can do well - and I prefer.
These 2 guys spend the whole movie as jerks: conning, lying and misleading their women (and everyone else)for their own egos and pleasure. Mind you the women are pretty unlikeable too as they can yell a lot at the servant and be demanding.
We kept waiting for a balancing e.g. them seeing the error of their ways as in the much superior 'Bachna Ae Haseeno'. It appears they dont wake up to themselves but continue to be jerks.
If you think one long con is funny, go for it, but we just found them unlikeable.
A one note disappointment which could have been better with rescripting and redirecting perhaps- as these actors can do better. A DVD I wont be keeping.
