It's light and very easy to use with the excellent designed handle.
Richard K.
Much easier on the back, even with light snow, than picking up a narrow shovel dozens of times.

I've used it for three 1-2" snowfalls to clear a very wide driveway.

I own a new 18 HP, 36" wide Ariens snow blower. I like it, I use it several times a year. But I "need" it only a few times each year. In contrast I use my push shovel almost every day for frequent light snows, sometimes several times a day. Because I have a slightly uneven paver driveway the plastic pusher eventualy gets beat up but because I use it so much I'll gladly buy another. The last week of January 2013 someone was trying to sell one for $200. I'd shop for this off-season when they are very reasonable.

I have a driveway about the size and shape of a tennis court. I can clear it in only a few minutes when it gets < 5" of dry snow or < 3" of very wet snow.

UPDATE 3/1/13

First I purchased a yellow Garant AAP36KU 36" wide push shovel and loved it. The only reservation from my point of view was edge wear. After 2 seasons of heavy use the bottom edge was showing a lot of wear. The reasoning goes, I like it a lot, I use it a lot, they don't last forever so I need another. So I go to buy at least one more.

The yellow Garant AAP36KU is replaced by the Garant 36" Extrawide Snowpusher APP36KU which is blue in color. To get a very good deal on one I ended up buying three which I guess is the way the factory ships them to retailers. That isn't a problem for me, one for the driveway, one for the rear patio and the third I'll use at my parents home.

The differences other than color of the plastic are these. I suspect the yellow was a marketing "proof of concept" How can this be made with a minimum of tooling costs. The yellow U shaped handle is simple but workable. It fastens to the yellow blade with two large simple thumbscrews and it is very easy for anyone to assemble.

I bought one of these at True Value for about $44. It is very useful for cleanup of the trails my snowblower leaves. It is also very useful for cleaning my wooden deck, because it is a hard vinyl that won't damage the wood like metal shovels do. If you are using it for normal snow shoveling there are limits to how much snow you can push due to the weight. So it would be difficult to push more than about 3-4" of snow very far.

I've only used this for 5 or 6 light snows, so I can't attest to its durability. But, so far, it is a fast and easy way to clear the driveway and sidewalk. If you get the angle right, you can push the snow right off the driveway and never have to pick it up. Much easier on the back, even with light snow, than picking up a narrow shovel dozens of times. I got mine at Curtis Lumber in central New York for $33. If it only lasts a year or two, I'll go buy another.

I prefer to shovel in intervals rather than wait for the total accumulation and this shovel is perfect for 3-inch depth. Have a wide and fairly long driveway which is mostly smooth and this shovel made shoveling much faster and easier than I have ever experienced
in the past. If your driveway is cracked because of sidewalk tree roots or age as long as you don't push down too hard it will work with additional shoveling using a narrower shovel for the "down to the pavement" cleaning. It was easy to use and picked up so
much more snow at one time. I am very glad to have purchased it.

This one was a gift, but I have an older model and they are great. Works best on light snow of less than three inches. In a typical winter I will use my snowblower twice and this shovel ten times. With shovel I always finish faster than the neighbors finish with a blower.

I've used it for three 1-2" snowfalls to clear a very wide driveway. It works great! The snow doesn't stick to the plastic blade, and the handle is very ergonomic so there is no strain on my back. It works much faster than my old conventional snow pusher with 24" steel blade. I ordered mine through my local Do it Best hardware store, where it was shipped free to the store.

Best shovel I have ever owned. Durable and ways to use. Takes a lot of time and effort out of shoveling snow.

I live in norther lower Michigan and this winter and been one for the memory books, a LOT of snow. I use this shovel to move snow that's about 4" and under to one side of drive and then use my snow blower to get the snow off my driveways. I also use it to remove the snow off my decks. It's light and very easy to use with the excellent designed handle. Highly recommend this!
