I love my new Pergola. It's a great product for a very resonable price. It came right away with full, easy to follow instructions. It's good, hard redwood and the top pieces fit together by "interlocking" which makes it a sturdier design. It's also very attractive. Great bargain!

I should take a photo with the plants (vines) and hanging baskets -- impressive

Looks great but also looks a bit cheap. The 4 base pieces are not 8 x 8 like they should be. Makes the whole pergola look cheap and fragile. Once built, doesn't have that strong, secure feel. Also pay attention to the dimensions, the base posts sit just at 9 x 9 but they advertise a 10 x 12 pergola

I was really looking forward to a Pergola Kit, saving me alot of work; such was not the case. When the kit arrived, I was somewhat disappointed in the quality for the following reasons:

1.)The 4 posts were only 7' long rather then the normal 8' post one expects. One was cracked to the point I replaced it.
2.)One of the top support boards was very warped.
3.)Several boards had 1/2" of bark and many had knot holes going all the way through the boards.
4.)The holes in the posts were drilled between 1/4"-1/2" out of alighnment, and had to be re-drilled.
5.)None of the wood screws were provided, and had to be purchased.
6.)I ended up staining the Pergola so the different woods would match.

After bringing this to the attention of "Backyardman", Bruce, his wife promised that he would send me reimbursement for the materials I had to buy to complete the assembly; roughly $100.

Two emails promising reimbursement, from his wife, I have yet to receive ANYTHING!

Unless the "Backyardman" improves his quality control, I would not recommend purchasing any of his Pergola's
