The Garden Delights Solar Rain Gauge is a brilliant decorative rain gauge providing both form and function during the day and night! Glass rain gauge vial (udometer) is easy to read and measures up to 7 inches of rainfall. The rain gauge vial / tube is designed with a flat bottom, providing more accurate rainfall measurements. This rain gauge features a study black metal stake in a classic fluted design and a crackled clear glass garden globe within the base of the stake with an LED solar light that comes on automatically at night. The solar light changes colors from red to amber to blue and after all day of charging the solar panel in the sun the solar light will stay on for up to 6 hours. Packaged in a gift box this solar rain gauge would make a great gift to that special gardener in your life! The metal stake twists apart making it easy to store during the winter. The glass rain gauge vial (udometer) makes this stake a wonderful decorative garden item, however be sure to bring the glass vial indoors when temperatures drop below freezing, when water turns to ice it expands causing the vial to break. This is a great addition to your garden. The solar part works very well even in less than sunny conditions. Most enjoyment when you can place it close to your viewing area.

We loved this. But, after a year you can't read the lines on the glass gauge. And there is no where that we can find a replacement gauge. So now we must purchase the whole thing.

I have actually had this for about 3 years now - it was awesome at 1st and lasted about a year - than the threads on the stake holding it in the ground went bad and this year I can not get the solar ball to work anymore.....
