1.0 out of 5 stars I didn't like it
I bought this because of all of the rave reviews, but I didn't like it. I was very disappointed. I like this sort of music which I call "trance music" and I have many of them; most don't live up to the expectations I thought it had, and this is CD doesn't as well.

I listened to it one time. I thought it plain ordinary droll new age dribble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiration for Meditation and Creation, February 24, 2001
This review is from: Garden of the Gods (Audio CD)
Myself, living in the close neighborhood of the Garden of the Gods, in Colorado Springs, this CD kind of a special gift. Till now I could see this Garden, could feel it by touching these red rocks, could walk it, even smell it. And now, I can hear it, peaceful sounds produced by Chaitanya G. Deuter (guitar, flute, synthesizer, drums, vocal) and the heavenly angel like voice of Annette Cantor. Almost a full hour to be in "the better world". The CD itself is pretty, a soft yellow surface, a tender pink for the print. After reading the titles of the 8 music pieces, I get inspired to write a poem: "Within the Temple of Silence, Gaia dreaming - herself awake ..... hearing strong words - "Felsen im Licht" .... wishing instead for a soft vision like the Kiss of a Rose - or that she would be sprung from a Seashell - like Venus rising but now awake - all vanishing like the Wind in the trees from a distant Mountain." Wonderful !

This is by FAR my favorite CD in my collection! I use it for meditation and also just when I need a lift. I recommend it highly and hope that others get as much from it as I do. My only problem is that is CD has set the bar that new ones are not messuring up. I would love any suggestions!

Garden of the Gods is a spiritual and emotional experience, NOT musical "wallpaper". I teach T'ai Chi Chih which, among other things, is a moving meditation on joy and gratefulness. This beautiful soundtrack with its ethereal vocal and instrumental lines helps us to recognize this sense of joy and build upon it. This is by far my favorite "New Age" CD.

I loved the songs with eerie female vocals but could do without the two tunes with male "Hey-ya, Hey-ya" singing.

5.0 out of 5 stars special and true, May 30, 2008
This review is from: Garden of the Gods (Audio CD)
My brother first introduced us to this music and I thank him for his excellent choice.
Sometimes reviews give high marks to, in my opinion, rather drab formulaic "new age" strains. This one combines the angelic and the shamanic (the male "hey ya" tracks), the masculine and feminine presence, so this works well on several levels. Just one track I found a bit insipid. Otherwise, we have had it for 2 years and include it in clinical work sometimes. Listened to it continually for a while, gave it a rest, came back again, and it still had its purity and could lift the soul with its gentle presence. Very good for meditation, inner work and sealing friendship at dinner having it as background. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT CD, September 5, 2007
This review is from: Garden of the Gods (Audio CD)
I love all Deuter's music, but this one is very special! And it is a perfect companion to another favorite of mine: Garden of the Goddess by TAJALLI, Shaman and master of the Sacred Sound Current! Both CDs complement each other. Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Different from Deuter's others, and by far the best of them all, July 22, 2009

This review is from: Garden Of The Gods (MP3 Download)
I've listened to a lot of Deuter's music, and this album is different from the others. The male and female human voices in some of the pieces take it to another level, and all the compositions are superb. There is not a boring or discordant one in the bunch; each is individual and distinct, and the order in which they come is very satisfying. Some of the music on the other Deuter CDs approaches New Age elevator music in my opinion, though there are a few nice pieces here and there. This album broke new ground that this artist has never - yet - approached again.
