4.0 out of 5 stars Great pump, June 9, 2008
This review is from: Smart Garden Infinity 600 GPH Magnetic Drive In-Line/Submersible Pump with 16-Foot Cable (Lawn & Patio)
Comes with an assortment of plastic fountain attachments and the suction cup feet are a nice touch. The housing shown in the front view of the picture, with the dial and the filter slots for water intake, is used when you wish to draw water from the same pond as the pump. This pump cover can be replaced with the included intake nozzle that can be attached to a tube so you can draw water from another pond for a waterfall setup.

We have a 500 gallon pond in which we use this pump. It works great( for over a year now). We have it on a timer from 8am to 9pm and it always works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pond pump, May 22, 2011

So far I am very pleased with the pump. I didn't have a need for all the extra connections shipped with the pump but I'm sure many users would need them. This is the third pump that I have installed in the little pond. I only require about a 5 ft head and perhaps 300 gph. I wanted to try this brand to see if I can get more than 2 - 2 1/2 years of service before failure. Pump is on a timer to pump approx 10 hrs per day. I've had this pump in operation about 1 month. Its very quiet and it just pumps the water over a small water fall for 10 hrs each day.

I bought this for my dad for his birthday. He is a huge electronics critic and he loves it! For the money it is by far the best out there! It even came with fountain accessories :)

This pump comes with different "heads" which allows for lots of selections. The pump adjustment knob does not seem to change the pump flow. Good pump for the price ($49). It's been continuously operating for a month or so and all in all quite well. Would have preferred a pump with more capacity for higher water pump height but perhaps I did not research this well enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh but the noise..., December 11, 2011

I purchased the 300 and 600 models for the sumps on my aquaria. Both are running great and do a wonderful job, but....unlike the 300 model, which is very quiet, the 600 model emits an incessant humming sound. The vibration is quite strong and I have to make sure nothing is touching the pump, the cord, the tubing. I wanted to talk to someone (seller I guess would be the resonsible party), but going through the process at amazon I got some kind of call center and they weren't even interested in what the problem was. They just sent a replacement, and to my distress, this one is even louder, it almost grinds. Yes, in the water, suspended, without even touching anything. From the start I suspected the impeller. So I experimented, took out the impeller from my original pump and put it in the new louder replacement, and what do you know, this one now sounds like my original, and the original sounds like the new one (grinding) with the impeller from the new pump. So I figure my hunch was right, the impeller just doesn't quite fit as it should. Too much play perhaps, allowing the vibration to be stronger than it should. So I will be sending the replacement back. My next challenge will be to try and actually speak with someone. Wish me luck.Smart Garden Infinity 600 GPH Magnetic Drive In-Line/Submersible Pump with 16-Foot Cable

I have been using this pump in my Koi pond for about a month now. I decided to add a second pump for the winter too REALLY keep the water moving so the top does not freeze over. It appears to be doing a fine job so far. I have a 700 Gallon pond and a 750 Gallon pump running already this is just "extra".

This pumps works well. I was a bit disappointed with the volume derating with only a three foot lift. Nevertheless, it is working well.

The pump is working fine although it was clearly damaged in shipping. I did notify Amazon about this and have not heard back. I repaired the outer impeller housing with some heavy duty packing tape and it works fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent fountain pump!!!, July 26, 2011

This review is from: Smart Garden Infinity 600 GPH Magnetic Drive In-Line/Submersible Pump with 16-Foot Cable (Lawn & Patio)
This seems to be a great pump. Over the years I've had to buy a number of fountain pumps because they wore out after a year or two. They were well taken care of and only ran about 10 hours per day during the summer. I've read numerous reviews this time around and found this one to have great reviews on multiple Internet sites. One nice thing is this pump has a 16 foot cord. Many fountain pumps do not.

This is used on a large 350 gal. fountain and works well. I initially purchased the 300 gal per hour pump, but later returned it for the 600 gal per hour one. I've posted this same review for both the 300 and 600 gal per hour pumps. They are pretty similar, except for the gals per hour.

This pump comes with numerous fittings, so it should work well for many applications.

I have a recommendation. This has a variable control for the volume output gals per hour, so one can easily reduce the volume. I would purchase a larger pump than needed, and then the flow rate can be easily reduced to exactly what ones requirements are.

I highly recommend this pump. I've been impressed with the cord length, the reliability, the number of fittings shipped with it, the overall quality and the variable output control.
