5.0 out of 5 stars Funny yet serious, November 20, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Garden Madness: The Unpruned Truth About a Blooming Passion (Paperback)
This book is so funny it should carry a warning label: Do not read if you are drinking hot coffee!I laughed out loud so much, my cat came over and stared into my face to see what was going on! Yet the book also has a serious underlying point to make about human impact on the natural world. I especially liked Watkins's take on the milk hormone question. You can feel her impatience with dumb stuff. She also gently punctures garden snobbery and the catalog ordering of goofy objects mania.Maybe someday she'll write a sequel; I hope so.
