Containing over 200 photographs on the theme of gardens from photographers around the world, divided into five categories: Plant Portraits, My Garden,Garden Views, Life in the Garden and Trees, with a section for Young Garden Photographer of the Year, the diversity of images seems to go well beyond the limitations of the garden.

While some of the photographs clearly require a degree of knowledge about photography or special lens or other photographic equipment, there are just as many that could have been taken using a basic camera and with little expertise, and it is this combination that makes this collection so appealing, demonstrating that what really matters on the part of the photographer is recognising the potential for a good shot.

With photographs taken under almost all circumstances, and ranging from macro shots to wide vistas, this is an inspirational collection.

The English are serious gardeners. They have a national garden show with prizes every year. A few years ago they started a garden photography contest to go along with the show. This is the first year's prize winners. Gorgeous, gorgeous photographs from gardens... award winners or honorable mentions all... big beautiful book.
