I bought this DVD for my dad, as we both enjoy model trains and gardening. It's pleasant enough, but quite a bit short of "spectacular." There's way too much talking, with the camera on the speaker rather than on the trains or gardens, and, in particular, too much camera footage of a train just circling around on a wooden platform in a yard, with no real garden in sight. Some of the setups are really nice; there are just too few of the good ones. We enjoyed it most just having it running on the screen, as a sort of side show during conversation, with the DVD's own sound turned off and other music playing in the room.

PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT RANKS AS ONE OF MY POOREST RETAIL DECISIONS. THIS DVD MAY BE O.K. FOR SMALL CHILDREN WHO HAVE DISCOVERED "TOY" TRAINS FOR THE FIRST TIME, BUT IT DEFINITELY "IS-NOT" FOR ADULT LARGE SCALE MODEL RAILROADER ENTHUSIASTS!!!!!!

This film contains some amazing workmanship and exacting detail. The layouts are beautifully done. The films covers several garden railroad layouts.

I bought this to learn more about garden model railroading. It had some ideas. I wish it had something about live steam, which I think would be cool to have running on a garden railroad. The videography is very good. It was interesting to watch.

My wife gardens and I thought we could build a model railroad in the garden so we could spend more time together enjoying our favorite hobbies together. This was full of ideas. I have not pursued the hobby any farther but if you are looking at setting up a garden railroad I recommend this video.

This was a fun DVD. And have watched it several times already. Highly recommeded to any Model Rail Nut.

This is a good book to read before installing a garden railroad. The book is easy read. The book has many pictures which assists the reader in understanding the text.
