Very Handy for the Active Gardener,

This review is from: Garden Rocker with Cushion and Stowaway (Kitchen)
The Garden Rocker offer much more utility than standard gardening benches because it allows you to tilt forward and side-to-side to reach things rather than forcing you to continually get up to position your bench just right. The Rocker also won't sink into soft soil as readily as wheeled benches and doesn't hurt your knees like pads do. The height of the base adjusts quickly via a bolt-and-wingnut that just requires hand tightening, so different people can share the same unit.
The addition of the cushion is invaluable since otherwise, the seat is just hard (albeit contoured) plastic. The cushion attaches to the base with a series of velcro straps, keeping the two firmly secured to each other. It features several hanging pockets on the sides for hand tools. Both the cushion and the sturdy plastic base can be easily surface-cleaned. The Rocker is surprisingly compact compared to the photos that I'd seen and to my own expectations. This is good from a storage standpoint, but it does mean that it takes a little time (and faith) to get used to in the field, i.e. you may feel like it's going to dump you on the ground for the first few minutes of use. Once you adjust to its feel, you'll never go back to traditional gardening seats and pads again.

Saved my back this season,

I adore this chair. For a few years now I have suffered excruciating back pain. Last summer I had just decided that gardening was out for the following season because it just broke my back leaning over or sitting on the ground (even with a pad) and I would be unable to move for days after being outside and working. This past year I got proactive (I have a HUGE yard and a garden with tons of unwelcomed visitors). I read the reviews here and decided on this rocker style chair. SO HAPPY!
Why: It is insanely comfortable. It has a nice water, dirt and and clumsy/rough behavior resistant fabric and construction, enough cushion, ergonomic rump molding and tilts plenty far forward, sideways and back (while feeling perfectly safe and stable) to get my garden work done. I did not once feel like I was going to tip or that it was going to fly out from under me. It is incredibly durable and very convenient. It slid and ground into gravel all spring and summer at least 4 days per week for at least a half day at a session without showing any real wear (even on the bottom plastic). I shoved weeders, scissors, clippers, hand trowels etc. into the pockets and they are in good condition. No holes, frays... nothing. There is also storage on the bottom so there is no need for lots of ups and downs (a bonus for the back). It is light enough to carry by the handle (fabric in back) by one hand and carry a trash can in the other no problem. I also use it when washing the dog in the tub. I can garden day after day with this thing (with occasional stretches) and feel pretty darn good at the end of the day. Also - I was originally wanting a chair that had wheels. So glad I did not go that way. I would have been sinking in the dirt and grass, it would not have survived the gravel and this thing (although I am sure they do not recommend it) can scoot easily while still under you. Plus you can tilt and lean every which way with this. Love this thing!

Garden Rocker,

I received this item for Christmas last year. I have issues with my neck and back, and had not been able to work in the garden for more than 10 or 15 minutes at a time with serious side affects. This stool changed that. I spent two hours planting and setting paving stones this past weekend with no back problems! It takes some getting used to and you have to think about your posture to make it effective. But particularly if you have back problems that have kept you out of the garden, it's definitely worth a try.

This little seat is a must have for those of us whom are finding it harder & harder to get up & down for gardening chores. Takes a little bit to find your balance, but after that it's great. Highly recommend. I shopped on line & found Amazon to offer the best price than any other stores I looked at.

well made and height adjustable, easy to rock front and side to side while weeding and helps saves the knees.

Very disappointing, seriously unstable rocker design,

Rocker and cushion package arrived promptly, but my first attempt to sit on it instantly resulted in my landing on the floor backwards. What a surprise! Fortunately I was not injured and tried again while holding on to a door. It took several practices to be sure I could sit down safely, but I won't use this outdoors as intended since it is so easy to tip over backwards. The side and front movement is nice, but the back should be redesigned for much better stability. Had I seen this rocker in a store and tried sitting on it, I would never have purchased one. My very old "Yard Butler Garden Kneeler and Seat" is wonderful, so I'll just keep using it. Would not recommend this product.

My back was injured in an accident almost two years ago and I have been unable to weed my enormous garden because of my limited range of motion. However, I can work from a seated position. The garden rocker has been great for me. This past weekend, I spent several hours in the back yard pulling up all the vines and weeds that have taken over everywhere. I can actually see the ground now. I am able to move from one spot to the next very comfortably without having to stand up. The base feels very stable, even on uneven surfaces. Such a simple design, but so effective. Be sure to get the cushion with pockets for tools -- very handy.

If you enjoy gardening and have a creaky back or knees, get this seat! It relieves a lot of the strain of bending or kneeling. I ruptured a disk in my lower back and could not garden at all until I got this seat. My only suggestion is that the tool pockets be wider - my trowel always flips out of the pocket. (Longer pockets would be my first choice, but then they would drag on the ground!) All in all, a wonderful gadget for the gardener.

Garden Rocky Seat Saved Me,

I bought this several years ago when I could no longer garden by squatting down. It has been a lifesaver! I garden on a concrete balcony, and it allows me to put it where I need it and reach my pots easily. It's lightweight and easy for me to cart from one end of the 26' balcony to the other. In the winter I store it inside behind my big screen TV. It's pretty indestructible, but I don't want it to get weathered. The seat cover makes it comfy on my tush and I can keep my trowel and pruning shears in the pockets. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
