Back to the Garden,
By Florian Evers (Taos, New Mexico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Garden of Serenity 3 (Audio CD)
David & Steve Gordon are back with another rare journey into the Garden of Serenity. This venture leads us into another lush corner of the garden, weaving in their signature sounds of nature, bird song, gentle flowing waters, fountains and breezes with lilting classically influenced melodies blending caresses of harp with flute, piano and strings. I have just begun using this CD in my healing work and my clients love it. This is the perfect Sunday afternoon music for just relaxing and reading your favorite book to. Gentle and incredibly soothing, yet enabling the consciousness of the listener to remain awakened and attentive. I highly recommend this CD for meditation and relaxation and thank the Gordon's for continuing to put out the highest quality mind, body & spirit influenced music.

Garden of Serenity, Vol. 3,

I think that this cd is the best release signed by David and Steve Gordon! Luckily, a friend of mine told me about this cd. I haven't hear this on radios and I don't understand why many labels don't make a proper promotion for their artists...

A quick smile and gentle handshake,

This is not the same pace as either Garden of Serenity 1 or 2 but it is just as refreshing. It is quicker, more uplifting and refreshing, like a quick dip in a cool pond rather than a long warm bath, if that makes sense. I personally adore this album most of all! Love the chirping birds, makes me feel somehow...free...

Really nicely done,
This review is from: Garden of Serenity 3 (Audio CD)
A beautiful CD. Great for reading or writing, keeps me sane while I'm paying bills, (haha) and is really nice for a mellow brunch or getting together for coffee. The lovely blends of birdsong, trickling water and gentle instrumental melodies give it a flavor of regeneration that is really appealing, nicely done. Another recommendation is Heart of Peace, lovely.

This is a great means for me to unwind and release the stresses of my day. This album even more that the other two Garden of Serenity Volumes (Garden of Serenity & Garden of Serenity II), though I love them too, feels like a journey of discovery which am often in need of. I also have been listening to Soothing Sanctuary alot right now.

The Garden Anew...,
This review is from: Garden of Serenity 3 (Audio CD)
It is true that this one is different from the other two Garden of Serenity albums but in a wonderful way! This brings the traveler to a new corner of the Garden! This album is more like a stroll around the beautiful and vast garden of my mind allowing me to focus on relaxation and begin to be kind to myself. Each listen is a new journey and I am ecstatic that I found this album!
Take a listen to the other two as well! Garden of Serenity Garden of Serenity II

Sad music, not my favorite,

I bought the Garden of Serenity and couldn't get enough of it. When I saw this one, I had to grab it. It doesn't remind me at all of the first Cd of the Serenity CD's. It kind of reminded me of what would be perfect for playing at a funeral home that I had been to a few years ago, that had a few birds hanging in cages there & waterfall sounds, but a whole lot of music. I guess I loved the way that the Gordon brothers wove their beautiful music in and out of the nature sounds better on the first one. I love their drum music too, and I have a few others of theirs that I want to get. It sounds like a lot of birds are trying to make a very sad place a bit happier. Some of the music is beautiful, but most I don't care for. I'm trying to give this to my Aunt, as her parents are residing in the funeral home I just spoke of & I thought this might comfort her. It just makes me so sad, I want to cry when I heard it. I can be sad all on my own, I don't need help! Sorry, Dave and Steve , I really am a fan of yours!

As refreshing and sweet as you can get...,

How could you improve on something as special and beautiful as the Garden of Serenity or Garden of Serenity II? These are magnificent albums! What I love about this one is that it is most definitely not a replacement. This is for the other side of the meditation - when you come back refreshed and with restored energy. This is like a tall glass of water after a run. The run was great, the water refreshing. Very nicely done!!

I agree, this is a lovely album...,

It's more genteel than the other Garden albums and the timing was perfect! These artists put out some awesome soothing and serene work, this is a little twist on that. I've played this album at a girlfriends shower and a kids crafting event, keeps the little ones mellow yet awake, lol.

I am a big fan of David and Steve Gordon's work. Ever since Gate of the Sanctuary (later just renamed "Sanctuary"), I have been hooked on their music. The first Garden of Serenity I actually wore out my copy and had to replace it. Garden of Serenity II was ok, it was a little more "processed" and less natural-sounding.
This volume, unfortunately, I have no idea what the Gordon brothers were doing, but it it is not at all to the quality of every other work that I have listened to of their work. This has been a definite complaint among several new age store owners of my acquaintence. It was almost as if the Gordon Brothers put down a few tracks, gave it a lick and a promise and sent it off to be produced and distributed. This work is not up to par of most New Age Music of this type, particlarly from this duo whom I really expected great things from. It sounds completely amateurish. |
