5.0 out of 5 stars Lost jewels
These songs prove that Danny Taylor is one of the best all-time drummers ("Tabuli Noodle" and "Canonball Noodle" are awesome!). But Simeon is a genius as composer and lyricist. "I Don't Care What People Say" and "Mad Man Blues" are absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately they are extremely underrated. It's a pity.

3.0 out of 5 stars Silver Apples - 'The Garden' (Whirlybird Records)
All fourteen of these tracks have never been released before.Awhile back,original/long lost Silver Apples drummer Danny Taylor was at work when he heard an Apples tune on the radio.Taylor then phoned and faxed SA mastermind Simeon and the two were happily reunited. They apparently went through an old truck full of Taylor's stuff and stumbled across a studio tape that both...

I was a late comer to this one, the plus side of that was that I still had one more beautiful SA album in store from the "dynamic duo." IMHO, this album features lyrics and drums. If you like listening to drum styles, don't miss this CD because there is nothing else like it anywhere, (God bless Danny's soul). As are other SA albums, this one is absolutly disarming, brave music like this is too scarce in this world. Thank you Simeon and Danny(:

4.0 out of 5 stars fun in the garden, November 15, 2009

I chose to give this cd 4 out of 5 stars due to the fact that its unconventional sound may not be attractive to most. But I love it and a true colector of obscure would too! I orderd this along with Silver Apples/Contact and Soft Machine vol&2 but the Garden arrived first (used and in very good condition alot less expensive then a new one). Tracks like the noodle jams are very abstract and others like the Mustang Sally cover are cool and playful. Wile this album is not for everyone, The Garden has a special place in my music colection and my heart. Thanks Silver Apples.
