More About the Author

Journalist, career woman, and full-time mom, Mihaela Lica Butler is Romanian, living in Germany. She's cooked since early childhood, and wants more than anything to ignite this passion for children around the world. A healthy diet is the secret to a healthy, happier life: Mihaela herself learned this the hard way, when her husband, Phil Butler, suffered a major heart attack. She now cooks mainly vegan and vegetarian dishes, to protect her husband's heart, and to inspire her little boy to stay safe from unhealthy eating habits.

I was fortunate enough to be given the chance to proofread part of this excellent children's book and I have to say that I'm impressed.

Mihaela has done a great job of making eating vegetables seem like fun to kids. In fact, if I'd been read these stories when I was younger, maybe vegetables would be a bigger part of my diet now. :)

Moms will want to purchase this for two reasons:

1) To encourage their kids to eat a more balanced diet.
2) To incorporate the healthy recipes in the book into their meal planning.

I definitely recommend the book to any moms who are interested in improving their child's diet.

I like the book "Garden Superhero Tales" because its concept is a completely new idea and cannot be categorized.

The author's receipt for this book was:
- healthy cooking receipts
- drawings, designed to be colored by children
- stories, telling information to children
- spiced up with color photos of the vegetables and meals as well as some annotations with additional information

The book is a wonderful source to introduce children to cooking and teach them about vegetables.
Whenever our 3-years old daughter is talking about "the book", she is referring to this one. She likes to paint the pictures and listen to the stories.

Don't get me wrong. "Garden Superhero Tales" is not just targeting children. I want to use more vegetables and can find there easy-to-cook receipts that are tasty.
I could learn from the annotations some interesting facts about some vegetables.

It might be a good idea for parents also to get the ebook version. Otherwise you may not have access to the book because your child is busy with coloring it. :-)

I'm looking forward to the next part of the series.

My son and I had great fun with the recipes in Garden Super Hero Tales! A great way to run through what is healthy to eat and why, really enjoyed ourselves AND LEARNED SOMETHING. Great value for the kitchen inspiration, we have only investigated the first 10 pages!!! Easy to understand and plenty of colouring to be done whilst the cooking is undertaken. We highly recommend this to anyone looking to cook healthy meals and also incorporate their children into the experience.

I bought this book on a recommendation from a friend who has been assisting me in establishing a "natural/normal" eating regimen (my diet has been very remiss in vegetables) and I have been pleased and excited with each page I turn! The recipes are easy to prepare and absolutely delicious.....I had never even heard of Swiss chard prior to purchasing this book and now I am a number one fan! Try the recipe "Eat Me A Rainbow" and you will be a fan, too! As I have no children, I originally had my doubts on purchasing, as the cookbook appeared to be just for kids....boy was I wrong! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to find an appealing way to add vegetables into their everyday life!

I am completely delighted with this book. The stories are charming and delightful and make vegetables sound 100% appealing! As a preschool teacher, part of my job is to teach healthy eating and life style habits to my young students, and I am absolutely sure I will be using this book a lot in my classroom. I'm sure the children will enjoy listening to the stories, and then helping to prepare a healthy dish as part of our lunch. The recipes included in it sound absolutely delicious, so I will surely be using them at home as well as in my classroom.

I think this would be a tremendous resource for both parents and teachers seeking to teach healthy eating habits and an appreciation of vegetables to children from preschool age right through elementary school level, so I would recommend it for use with children ranging from age 3 years up to about 11 years. The stories may sometimes be a little complex for 3 year olds, but I think they could easily be adapted for the younger ones.
