Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Garden Weasel Mini Claw cultivates, loosens, aerates, and weeds all types of soil, even heavy clay. Its unique corkscrew spiral action means that there is no bending or lifting, so you are protected from undue muscle and back stress. A simple half-turn of the mini claw will easily loosen and aerate all kinds of soil, uproot weeds, blend in fertilizers and peat moss, cultivate around shrubs and bushes, and make watering more efficient. Its quality design also helps to avoid damaging or cutting vital root systems. The mini claw size is excellent for flower boxes and small, hard-to-reach areas. It is built with rugged, all-steel construction and hardened steel tines for strength, and it has vinyl comfort-grip handles to make your job easier. The mini claw is comfortable and efficient -- your garden and your back will love it. It includes a limited lifetime warranty.

Amazon.com Review

Cute and practical, the Mini Claw aerates and loosens soil, increasing the effectiveness of watering and fertilizing. Also helpful for weeding, the Mini Claw has three angled tines and a vinyl grip. If you're looking for heavy-duty aeration, you may want to purchase a larger version of the Claw, but for delicate projects, the Mini Claw provides the precision you need.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite garden tool., May 30, 2002

I keep a vegetable garden in Winder, GA, and this is my favorite gardening tool. I use it for everything from initial planting (after the ground has been broken and prepared with larger tools) to scratching fertilizer into the soil ongoing. It's lightweight, convenient to hold and easy to use to loosen soil.

Also seems to be pretty much indestructible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for containers, January 20, 2011

(From my gardening website)

"This is my favorite cultivating tool for my containers. Just stick it in the soil and give it a twist. It's small enough to use in established containers, too, as long as you don't catch the base of the plant in the tines. It doesn't go very deep, but you shouldn't need to loosen more than the top few inches of most pots.

The only type of container I can't use this with is my railing boxes that straddle the top of the railing. The center is too shallow to get much benefit from the tines, and the deeper sides are too narrow for the tines to turn."

I wish this product would be offered again. If you are a container gardener and find this item anywhere, buy it!
