It often seems that the quickest way to guarantee a rainy day is to leave your home with the lawn sprinkler running. Now you can avoid turning your lawn or garden into a swamp--with the help of the Gardena electronic rain sensor. Simply position the rain sensor in an area that's exposed to rainfall and connect the unit to a Gardena water controller using the included cord. Using an internal lens, this unit senses when rain begins to fall and automatically shuts down your sprinkler system. It can also be used in conjunction with the Gardena soil moisture sensor to ensure your lawn or garden doesn't receive more than its required share of watering. This sensor is small and unobtrusive, standing less than 6 inches tall, and can easily be kept from view. One 9-volt alkaline battery (not included) is required.

Bought this product to work with the Gardena Water Computer C1060 & the Gardena Automatic Water Distributor 1198.The manuals call for programming using the "special" function, however, we cannot make this work, and calls & e-mails to Gardena go unanswered. We have had to disconnect the Rain Sensor in order to get the rest of the system to function.
