5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pruners!
I got my first set of these Gardena pruners this year and I love them. They are durable, they cut well and are comfortable to use. The blades can also be replaced if they break or wear down, which is a nice feature.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice tool, but blades are very brittle & break easily
I snapped the end of the blade off this tool within my first hour of use. I was cutting a branch and twisted the shear a bit to try to break the branch off and the blade snapped in two.

While twisting the tool may not be a good practice, I have never broken a blade before on any tool - most of which cost 3.99. The bigger problem is finding replacement blades. None of...

As a sufferer of carpal tunnel and trigger flexor in two fingers, I was pleased to see how easy this pruner was to use. Nice and sharp and very efficient, especially pruning rose canes. I know it's a small thing, but the wrist loop comes in handy. Well-made and light weight is a plus.Best feature is the easy removable top blade.

While twisting the tool may not be a good practice, I have never broken a blade before on any tool - most of which cost 3.99. The bigger problem is finding replacement blades. None of my local retailers carry them nor, ironically, does Amazon.

I would choose another tool with better, more widely available blades.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product....., May 28, 2008

I bought these pruners because I have some other Gardena products and love them. I've been using these for over a year now and I love them too. As with all Gardena products they are a first rate and quality product and add such innovations as an adjustable hand-span grip which makes them comfortable for people with small hands as well as those with big hands to use.

Obviously they are meant to work on things like shrubs and bushes and not to do the job of the large and powerful longhandled branch pruners.

These pruners are attractive and the comfort grips feel good in your hands. Blade has kept it's sharpness after over a year of use and the wristcord comes in handy sometimes when working on large projects where I would have temporarily misplaced my pruners in the past. A pleasure to use. Yet another ''homerun'' product from Gardena.

5.0 out of 5 stars no brainer, great pruner, I'm returning for a 2nd pair., December 13, 2009
This review is from: Gardena Professional Bypass Pruner 30343-10 (Lawn & Patio)
Just visiting amazon to buy a 2nd pair of this bypass pruner. I have several bypass pruners, but ever since I got these (years ago) I will only use this pair, and my wife and I both prefer this pair, so there's contention for them. For the price, it's silly not to have as many as you need. So, as I indicated, I've used them heavily for more than 3 years and they are my go-to bypass pruner. They have a comfortable grip, a safety lock that is easy to use one handed, a nice wrist strap, good spring, and a sharp blade that stays sharp if you treat it right. Over the years they haven't gotten sloppy like my pile of other bypass pruners.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gardena first - found surprise, February 1, 2002

Love the looks, hope they work as well or better than my Fiskars. I was looking at hand-pruners yesterday, visited this site and actually ordered the 601 [lighter duty] model because it was on sale. Then I cancelled the order because the shipping was costly, wanted to see them first-hand or learn more. Last night while walking the dog, I heard a car drive over something that sounded strange - as if fallen from the sky, low and behold, something better than I wanted, something like a delightful answer to a prayer, Gardena 343 shears, none the worse for wear, a few dings, I look forward to field testing them... I suspect a local landscaper will miss them!
