4.0 out of 5 stars Gardena Products convenient and reliable
I have used Gardena Products for years and love them. They are convenient and reliable. This nozzle is another great example.

But the 4 pound shipping weight on this item is rediculous. Including shipping materials the shipping weight is no more than a half pound.

2.0 out of 5 stars fragile
I barely had this gun nozzle for a month before the handle cracked, shooting water into my face the next time I used it. I would only consider this product if you're very careful with your tools; otherwise, spend the extra money and get something more durable.

I've been using these hose nozzles for almost 10 years and I really like them. They work well and have great "feel" but, unfortunately, they're somewhat fragile. Figure on replacing it annually, maybe once every 2 years if you're REALLY careful. One drop onto concrete from waist height and it'll break. Leave the water on 24/7 and the pressure will crack the body. Still, they're light and the plastic body means less potential for paint damage when washing your car. Despite the fragile factor I keep buying these because I haven't found a nozzle I like better.

5 stars even w/ caveats listed below since it fits my needs so well.

If you want something that will last decades, buy a brass or zinc one, but if you're OK with replacing every couple years then the nice features of this Gardena 31910-12 are really worth the price.

The flow control is very convenient as I can maintain the spray pattern, but very easily adjust the volume. The quick release is great because it's trivial for me to unhook and store the nozzle out of the sun; the sun ruins plastic and rubber coated nozzles. I'm not tossing the nozzle around on the concrete at all.

(Oct. 2011) Five years later and having sat in the sun all these years, only thing wrong is the spray pattern control is broken - otherwise working just fine; especially convenient is the still functioning quick-release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gardena Spray Nozzle, May 26, 2007
This review is from: Gardena Trigger Nozzle with Flow Control 31910-12 (Lawn & Patio)
I have used this product for years and have found it to be the most convenient and the most easily controllable spray nozzle. I particularly like the ability to rotate it to any angle without having to rotate the hose. Also, the flow control can be adjusted from dispersed pattern to powerful jet stream at the flick of the trigger. Does it have any downsides? Yes - it's reliability. If you happen to drop it on hard concrete at the right angle, you may damage the flow control. Also if you forget to drain the water and it freezes, say good buy to it - it will develop cracks in the housing and leak. But with reasonable care and a replacement guarantee, you cannot help but enjoy it. Too bad that this particular model seems to be discontinued.
