Expectadly Brilliant!,
By Scott P. Gray (Baltimore, MD) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Gardener and the Wild Rose (Spiral-bound)
A brilliantly written short story that I can relate to first-hand. People promise and expect a lot, and only when words turn to action are you "happy." As hard as one might try to make happiness, it's only you that can bring happiness to yourself! Ms. Griffin did an excellent job of using the "Rose" as an analogy of her own life and the feelings she took from it. One can learn a lot from this short story.

Ms. Griffin did a wonderful job telling the tale of co-dependency and how damaging it can be to the human soul. This story is so indicative of how many people in our society attempt to "save" people because they think they have the better answer. God's plan is the best answer and sometimes, we as humans, just don't need to mess with the divine plan. It is clear to me that humans have a tendency to think they are powerful enough to change someones path and existence as it is in the world today. I applaud Ms. Griffin for taking a risk and writing about her personal life and then sharing it with the world. Read this little book, you will be able to relate to it somehow!!!
