A replica of a centuries-old Italian design, this urn displays classic egg-and-dart detailing on its rim and has a fluted bowl shaped like an upside-down pumpkin. Though it looks like weathered stone, the urn actually is made of recyclable polyethylene. It weighs just a few pounds (90 percent less than clay), so it's easy to move around, and it won't crack or chip. (It carries a 10-year warranty against breaking and chipping.) Because the polyethylene includes UV stabilizers, the color won't fade in the sun. Nor will cold and rain harm the urn. It measures 17 inches high and 15 inches wide (outside) on a 9-1/2-inch-square base. At the top, it has an inside diameter of 11-3/4 inches. It holds 14 quarts of soil and will accommodate a 10-inch grower's pot. On the bottom are spots where the urn can be drilled for drainage. --Fred Brack
