This book provides a set of instructions so accessible and reliable that native-plant horticulture seems as simple as an easy do-it-yourself project. As an introduction, Gardening with Nature in Texas is a handy, reliable guide--an ideal book to recommend to anyone on the verge of making the shift to native-plant horticulture. (William J. Scheick

About the Author
Author Karen Breneman joined the Master Gardeners in 1991 and the Texas Master Naturalist Program in 1999. She and her husband have been working to turn their property into a habitat garden complete with large earthen pond. Applying the principals learned with the Master Gardeners and the Master Naturalists, they have a landscape complete with flowers, trees, shrubs, frogs, turtles, dragonflies, butterflies, birds, armadillo, and raccoon. The landscape is a work in progress and a true labor of love.
