Slipcovers and Upholstery
CLEVER COVER-UPS contains wonderful ideas and lovely projects. I found it to be a bit overwhelming and thought it leans more toward someone with professional abilities. The book suggests making a muslin pattern. Hmmm, if I have to make a pattern instead of using one they provide, I am already lost. The book does explain how to create this pattern but...

Slipcover how-to
I purchased this book on the advice of a friend. I am a professional seamstress and upholsterer. That is important to know because I found the book well written and displayed, just it was exclusively for the novice. So bear that in mind when deciding to order the book. It was delivered quickly and in great condition.

CLEVER COVER-UPS contains wonderful ideas and lovely projects. I found it to be a bit overwhelming and thought it leans more toward someone with professional abilities.
The book suggests making a muslin pattern. Hmmm, if I have to make a pattern instead of using one they provide, I am already lost. The book does explain how to create this pattern but again, it is a bit over my head. Chair covers, Dressing Table Skirts and Ottoman covers are all the slipcovers type patterns while headboards and chair upholstery are in the (go figure! Hehe) upholstery section. Lots of color photos of the completed projects and step-by-step photos as you go along in the instructions are given but it is just much more than my mind can wrap around. The projects are lovely and if you have the talent, this is a good book for you.
