Product Description

Add elegance to your birding haven with the Gardman Pedestal Birdbath. The interior and exterior of the bowl have a flower pattern, which adds visual interest to the entire piece and helps texture the interior for smaller songbirds. The 2-1/2-inch depth is perfect for allowing smaller birds to bathe while larger birds can drink from the bath. Rectangular holes along the edge of the bowl offer perching room for birds of any size. Adding a classic touch, scrollwork in the base of the pedestal is accented by the antique bronze finish. The pedestal and base easily screw into the bath for quick and easy assembly and the three included ground pegs add stability to the unit. The plastic construction is weather and frost resistant to last for many seasons. Keep birds coming to your yard with the Pedestal Birdbath. Assembly required.

Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

I love the Gardman bird bath and so do all the birds who use it daily.
Mary S. Clemons
I'm a bit disappointed in how light-weight it was; we weighted the base down because we put it on a flat stone and not dirt, so we couldn't stake it.
Hayaki
It is reasonably priced, looks really nice in our front yard & the birds love it!

PROS: Price, durability, ease of cleaning

CONS: Can't use heaters, cracks if left out in freezing weather

Who would think that most birdbaths cost nearly $ 100.00? When I went birdbath shopping, I was shocked at the prices. Of those that I did find, many had fake birds attached to the birdbath. What bird is going to want to drink or bathe with a fake bird by its side?

This birdbath fit the bill. The price was right, and the top of this unit unscrews, so you can take it to the garden hose to clean it. Who wants to scrub a nasty, concrete bird bath by hand with a brush? Ick.... Birdbaths get pretty gross.

I use garden staples that I put through the filigree base to keep the unit from blowing over in high wind. On one hand, the unit is lightweight and much easier to move than one constructed of concrete. On the other hand, it will blow over in extreme wind.

The main problem with this unit is that you have to store it for the winter. Freezing water will expand which cracks the bowl.

All in all, I am satisfied with this birdbath.

I presently own two of these very same birdbaths. I will confess I bought them mostly based on the price, (which on sale was cheaper than what they're being offered for here). These birdbaths are attractive enough, stand at a good height, and are very effective as a birdbath. (Not too deep, and even comes with rocks which a lot of birds like in a bath). Unfortunately these birdbaths start to deteriorate and suffer a slow death almost immediately after putting them to work. The resin lining inside the bath begins to seriously erode after just a couple of months of use. Leaving an ugly rough black surface that is not as easy to clean. Although the rest of the bath stays relatively attractive for quite some time, it is the inside of the basin which is the business end of the unit, and where the decorative resin is no thicker or more water resistant than anyplace else. Mostly what I don't like about these baths is that both of mine ended up cracking open inside the basin after just the second year of use, thus requiring an ugly bondo type patch inside for it to hold water. One could probably get a couple of more years of use out of these baths without damage if they were to store them for the winter. Unfortunately birds like and need birdbaths just as much in winter as they do in summer. Mine got a lot of use and were used as drinking water by the birds every day that the water wasn't frozen.

Since it is possible to nurse these baths through the various planned obsolescence they suffer almost from the start, I don't really think its fair that I give them the total shaft as to a rating. They are after all very cheap, (especially on sale, but Amazons price is as good as it gets when not on sale). And they are well designed as far as the simple mechanics of birds baths go.

I have had a this model birdbath for over 5 years and love it. Yes, it would tip, so I put heavy rocks on the base, I live in Arkansas so the winters are not extreme, but we do have freezing temps occasionally - no problem with cracking. The birds use it, so that's what matter to me. I think it is an attractive shape and color. I am purchasing two more today for a new home.

Although the birdbath does look attractive in the garden, the item has stability issues due to its lightweight composition. It is easily tipped, particularly if a squirrel decides to get a drink. We are hoping the problem will get better when we add small pebbles to the hollow pedestal.

The birdbath does everything a birdbath should do. It's a little crooked when screwed together, not perfectly level when filled with water, but does the trick. It's the second one of these I've purchased. If I ever need another one I would buy this again.

Although very light, this bird bath seems to be very functional. It looks like real metal, but is much easier to move around. Our birds have really enjoyed it.

I really liked this bird bath, it is very pretty looking and a cheap price. Unfortunately it didn't work for me, I couldn't get any birds to bath in it, and the few that did visit it to get a drink seemed to have a very hard time. I think it's the way the bowl is shaped it makes it hard for the birds to lean down and get a sip. Also, it was not level, and no matter what I did, I could not straighten it out. I actually ended up using it as a planter and drilling some holes in it because it does have a pretty appearance but I would not recommend as a bird bath. I ended up getting a Smart Solar bird bath fountain and am so glad I did. One of the best purchases I have made on Amazon, and I do all my shopping through them.

The bird bath was ordered for my daughter. We like it because it is sturdy, yet light weight and easy to care for.
We change our bird bath often or refill when it is real hot. The birds love it and see grateful for the clean water to drink or take a quick "birdbath". Even the squirrels jump in for a drink from time to time. A real asset for anyone's yard...front or back. It looks like iron, but is lightweight plastic, but heavy enough to not blow over. Try a couple and take care of the beauties in nature. It could be used to put birdfeed your birds; downside, the squirrels will eat up the food fast..
