I was both pleased and confused when I received this product. First I was very pleased with the size and finish of this wire joiner but was puzzled when each box contained ONE HUNDRED pieces when I thought I was getting just 10.

I can say I really like these new push in Connectors and I've done some professional work as an electrician. I have recently done some work on my home and for others. I've used these and wire nuts, but now I prefer and will use these new units, rather than the old wire nuts I still have plenty of. I retired from doing that work several years ago and now just do my own electrical, projects and even sometimes help others with their electrical needs. I'll say this, I don't readily volunteer to do electrical, but I will help friends, even if it is to just look at their problems and needs and make recommendations. If I can help or sometimes, to suggest they get a pro for big jobs for work that will need to be inspected or certified. I know my stuff, but occasionally things come along that require more help than I am willing to do, but these kind of new tools are good to use and one needs to keep up with the changes in the trade. Wire nuts are much cheaper, but everyone won't strip their wire right, twist them on tight enough, or water-proof them a little with black tape wrap, silicone or rubberized tape. These connectors also need a clean strip at the right length to work properly and to not protrude a hot wire out from the connector you might touch. These are also recommended for solid wire only, where wire nuts can be used with twisted wire, both copper and aluminum. These connectors are similar to the holes in the backs of receptacles, switches and other electrical termination devices where you can just push a stripped wire into the hole and it will grab on tightly to the solid wire for a good electrical connection. They have been proven for years to make a good connection.Read more ›

Did not realize that Hom Dep offers these connectors for less than half the price. Tried to stop order from going through 30 min later but was not allowed. Other than the price the product is excellent.
