Product Description

Rid yourself of flies, gnats, and other flying insects without toxic and harmful chemicals with this plug-in device. The fly light can be used with any standard AC outlets and utilizes a 9-Watt UV light to attract bugs within a 600 square foot area. Once bugs enter the enclosure they'll become trapped with the adhesive glueboard. No odors are emitted from this compact unit, so you won't even notice it once installed. Setting up the fly light only takes a couple seconds. Insert the glueboard into the plug-in unit and then plug into an electrical outlet. The fly light will continue operating until unplugged to provide round the clock protection from flying pests. Glueboards are easily replaced so you can continue using the plug-in unit for years to come.

These units work best at night when they are not competing with natural light.

Very handy. It catches dozens of pesky little gnats, fruit flies, etc., that I didn't even know I had. And house flies and small moths.
When the sticky board is fairly well covered with "catches", you need to change the board for maximum effectiveness.
It uses UV (ultraviolet) light to attract the flying insects. So, it's best not to place it in a brightly lit area. Also, the "UV" output of the bulb diminishes over time, even if the light bulb is still lit. So, replace the bulb at the beginning of the season.
I have two, one in a dark hallway near an exterior door, and, one in my kitchen. The kitchen one does its job mostly at night, as the kitchen is pretty bright in the daytime. And, they both do double-duty as night lights. Thinking of getting another for my garage.

I live in a very old house out in the countryside and I constantly have problems with flies and moths in my bedroom/office, particularly at night when they somehow get in here from outside after being attracted to the light. I sealed off all the cracks I could find but night after night I'd be sitting at my computer and a giant moth would suddenly fly into my face. When I first started looking at insect traps I thought paying ~$40.00 for a small indoor fly trap was ridiculous, but after trying all sorts of flypaper traps and other things to no avail I splurged and bought this, hoping to finally be rid of the issue.

So, am I rid of the issue? Sort of. The first thing that happened was I realized I needed to order more glue boards for the trap, bringing the total purchase cost to $55.00 for a device that looks like it should cost about $12.99 at Wal-Mart. After the first two nights, the glue board was full...and it only had 4 moths on it. But due to the large size of the moths and the fact that they flap around and plaster the sticky side with dust from their wings, all of the sticky surface was either filled by the size of the four moths or was no longer sticky due to all the moth residue coating it. So I ordered the extra glue boards, which really should have been included with the original fly trap, and tried again. It more or less succeeded in doing what it was supposed to: catching the flying insects in the room. It works much better with all the lights off so the fly trap is the only light source apart from a TV screen or computer monitor; I haven't had much luck with it when the lights are on or when it's daytime and there's light coming in through the windows.

Just got back from my home in the Michigan UP -- the factory where apparently all the world's flies are manufactured. This is a new home that I visit 5 or 6 times a year. Each time we go there we are met with thousands of live, dying and dead flies.

Soooo I bought three flyweb units and loads of sticky window tape. The window stuff worked just OK but the flyweb unit filled so quickly that I had to change the cards every day -- even after I vacuumed and swatted the first wave of flies. By day three we were essentially fly -less. I'm buying more units tonight!

I agree more cards should come with the initial unit.

These units work best at night when they are not competing with natural light. But at night you really can't have these in your bedroom as they throw off quite alot of light. I move them from room to room and close the shades. You want the flies to see only this light, get attracted to it, bounce around and finally get caught. Pure statistics.

Hint: Buy the cheap plastic clear window flypaper and position them near the unit for a greater catch area (don't stick it to the actual unit or it could cause some unimaginable problem leading to fire and mayhem which would then cause you to hold me laible blah blah) Just position them on walls or windows near the unit.

(Those of you with especially tender hearts or card carrying PETA members may find yourself disturbed by the random buzzing of the trapped and dying flies; you may have some consolation in the fact that flies are mostly protein.)

Researched indoor fly traps on the Internet and The Fly Web Fly Trap came highly recommended on several different web sites.

I was desperate. Almost overnight, we had an unbelievable fly infestation in our house that was totally out of control.

Went looking for The Fly Web Fly trap locally. Couldn't find it. Was thrilled and relieved to find the product on Amazon.com

The product works great. Within a couple of hours after we plugged in the units, several flies had been snared in the trap.

Highly recommend this product. Would give it ten stars if possible.

Very important note: About three days after we received our traps, one of the traps started making a loud buzzing noise. By the next day, the noise had escalated to what seemed like a roar. The noise was so intolerable that we had to unplug the trap.

I immediately e-mailed the company with my concern and requested a replacement trap. Within 24-hours, Jessica, one of the company's customer service reps, e-mailed me with a gracious, very pleasant e-mail. Jessica said that a replacement fly trap would be sent immediately. No questions asked. No hassles. The replacement fly trap was delivered promptly.

Cannot stress how outstanding the customer service provided.

Extremely pleased with purchase. Very impressed with the product as well as the company.
