5.0 out of 5 stars Always funny
There is no other way to say it. Garfield is always funny, no matter which book it is. I love them all. They are always good for a laugh.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the others
Once again the funniest fat cat ever comes out with another book. Unfortunatley, it doesn't measure up to the others. I have been a big Garfield fan for at least 8 years, and this is the worst book yet. Luckily it's still pretty good. All the old jokes are reused again and again. Jim Davis needs to come up with some new jokes for the fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Yet, July 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Garfield Hogs the Spotlight: His 36th Book (Garfield (Numbered Paperback)) (Paperback)
I am a huge fan of Garfield now but I have only been so for a few years. I really liked this book because it was really funny. I especially liked the strips with Nermal, and they were really good in this book. I think this book is the best one I own.

This was a very funny book as are all the rest of the Garfield books. I like all of the characters. Jim Davis is the greatest cartoonist of all time! Congragulations Garfield Rules reviewer on writing all of those good reviews.

This Garfield book was great just liked all the rest of them. I think Garfield is just as funny now as he was 20 years ago. I don't like people like bret herholz who think he isn't funny anymore.

4.0 out of 5 stars A collection of daily comics, May 10, 2008

All this book is, is a collection of the daily comic from the last book with very little new material. I don't think they've created any new material for this strip sense Liz and John ended up together.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garfield Get's Old...., April 6, 2000

I have come to the conclusion a long time ago. Garfield is just not funny anymore. Jim Davis or whomever is writing and drawing Garfield now have run dry on new material and have resorted to the same jokes that may have been funny in the early to mid 1980's, but are just so weak and over used now it makes it painful and annoying to read. The people who are doing the work for Jim Davis seem to enjoy exploiting how much of a loser Jon Arbuckle is and his desperate attempts of getting a girlfriend. I'm rather sick of that. And whatever happened to Lyman! Here's a title Jim Davis should consider for the next book: "Garfield Retires!". It's just a thought.

And the fact that I have really, really, really upset, offended and downright irritated people with this review has made me giggle terribly. It also tell me that people with no sense of humor tend to laugh at bland repetitive things.

I'm afraid the truth hurts sometimes.
