I tend to wear blazers over tank tops (great for layering in offices with cold a/c) but I hate the way I tend to sweat in the underarms in blazers.

The shields do not stick to fabric at all.

I wanted something to keep my shirts clean and dry. I found these little guys. They are VERY sticky, they are soft, thin and flexible, although they do feel odd when you first put on your shirt.

Two things that irked me about them are price and there is an absorbancy issue.
There is a cheap alternative that I've found. I take Kotex long pantyliners and cut them in half. A big box is a few dollars and I don't feel so guilty about using them. My t-shirts stay nice, no deodorant stains. They take a bit of getting used to. (Now if you're a dude, you can either sneak into Walgreen's and buy 'em at night or buy online and have them delivered to your house... if married, have your wife buy them.)

I save the flesh tone for white button down shirts. And I cut a piece of the black garment guards to cover anything that would show out of a short sleeve of a dark shirt. Either way, I have some confident options.

I use shields in my suit jackets. I first tried out the Klienert's underarm shields, but they were the worst at taking off. It took 2o-30 minutes per arm to take the Klienert's shields off, and the white cotton dust particles got everywhere. It was a nightmare. So then I tried these Garment Guards and is 100 % better! They come off in one swipe!

I finally found these little beauties after years of tossing garments with underarms made ripe from the cyclical cocktail of antiperspirants, perspiration and dry cleaning chemicals. Not only did these Garment Guards help me save some much-loved blouses and cardigans; they also prevented new suit jackets from ever getting there. Now, I never dress for work without these.

    A few notes:
    - Their oval shape means extra attention is required when "pressing" down the edges to make sure they stick. Otherwise, friction from normal arm movements (say, while walking) can loosen them from your garment so they instead stick to you.
    - The non-stick side is soft and comfortable as long as the edges don't pucker.
    - The Guards absorb the odors that would otherwise take root in your clothes. The odor is said to be bacterial, which is why they tell you to remove after one use. I will tell you that I have accidentally machine washed cotton shirts with the Guards still attached- sometimes they stuck, sometimes they separated. I did notice the odor seemed to get washed out too.
    - These are "beige." For my darker suit jackets, I do buy a separate brand in black so they're not so obvious if I want to hang my jacket/cardigan on my cubicle wall.
    - The package says to use once and discard. Honestly, I did that perhaps only 80% of the time. For example, if I used these on a suit jacket while wearing a sleeved shell underneath (yes, with separate guards on the shell!), the exposure to my skin was not direct. In those cases, I could get away with a second wearing of the jacket before having to remove the Guards. This also stretches my hard-earned dollars. These babies aren't cheap.

I love these for work - when I know I'm going to be running around the office. Or, for the club when I know I will be dancing my little heart out! :-) They work really great and don't come off (unless you want them to) once placed on the garment.

These are great for wearing with blazers. I tend to wear blazers over tank tops (great for layering in offices with cold a/c) but I hate the way I tend to sweat in the underarms in blazers. And I hate to take my blazers to the dry cleaner after every wear. This makes it so I rarely have to take my blazers in for cleaning. I use a shield and just keep it in until it needs to be changed - probably after a few wears. BTW, I think I'm a slightly-above-average sweater - mostly because I get warm easily. But I am able to use standard deodorant, so I wouldn't consider myself an excessive sweater. Love them, highly recommend.

I got tired of dry cleaning bills all winter on my sweaters. These shields work and once on, never move. In fact my only complaint is that they are hard to remove!

They are not big enough to cover the entire underarm area. It's difficult to figure out where to place the gaurd to protect from sweating. They work, but they aren't great becuase if you sweat a lot, you'll sweat around the gaurd and that looks just as bad as sweaty armpits.

So, these are great for mild sweating over the course of a day when you don't move much. They wick away the sweat, and they never feel wet. For me, I soak my t-shirts' pits everyday when I'm "mildly sweating" - so these are a huge improvement for most days.
However, I wore these on a hot day when I was running around and moving a lot - and I just got sweat all around the outside of the shields - the shields were still dry and stuck fine, etc. - but who wants sweat around their pits? So, great for normal, low activity with mild-medium sweating. Terrible if you sweat more than that.
The shields themselves work great - they just can't contain larger areas of sweat or large amounts of sweat.
Additional note: no smell! Which I was happy about.
