The only thing I hate about this GPS (2300LM and I suspect for the whole series) is that the charging port is in the holder, and the charger connector is exposed at the bottom of the GPS. I have this placed on the dash of my car, so I can't even look at the GPS at the correct angle because of the charging port in the stand. It's completely in the way. Not only that, I don't know if it's because of the precarious angle, but it keeps coming off my dash and dropping onto the floor. Very annoying. If you don't mind it sticking only to your windshield, you'll probably be happy with this product.

The Garmin Nuvi 2300 series (I have the 2350LMT as well) is a great product that is intuitive and very functional. The maps are amazingly accurate and updated even in rural areas. Build quality is there and a child can operate it. Will purchase a newer version of the same when the time comes.

My last GPS was a tomtom, and I LOVED it. It had a few annoyances (the suction cup would fall constantly, never sticking. The screen was not bright enough to see in sunlight even at full brightness setting), but it got me where I needed to go so I loved it. It died after 18 months, which I really thought was too soon, so I decided to get this Garmin. And I have to say, it is MILES ahead of my old tom. I love the bright screen, the accuracy of directions and the way the suction cup is designed. I should say that I drive around for a living all day, to at least 6 different addresses a day, so I def. use this a lot. I used it for a week before posting this review. I'm hoping this one lasts me more than 18 months! The one downside is my tom had life traffic updates and this one does not. I knew that buying it, but I still miss the traffic updates. Luckily it's not really a feature I NEEDED. I have not tried to update the maps and probably won't until I see it giving me weird directions. I will update this review if my opinion of the item changes :-). One goes away for the bad battery life...it only really stays on for about 3 hours before dying,and I drive 7 hours a day, so I just have to keep it plugged into the cigarette charger all day, which is annoying considering I drive stick. However, I had this same issue with the tom, so it's something I'm used to.
