Defective - Do not buy
I purhcased this because it was brand new. The charging cradle looks and feels just like original. However, the manufacturing specs are not quite right though. The clips to hold the watch in place are about 1mm off. This does sound like much, but it prevents the watch from locking in place. This cradle requires a rubber band or other fastener to hold down the watch in...

It's a standard Garmin base and it fits my 305 perfectly. I didn't have any of the problems with the fit that some others mentioned in their reviews.

Used to replace a failing/half-working original cradle from my Garmin Forerunner 305. This new one fits perfect (no fitment issues that other reviewers had) and works just fine. No more intermittent charging and twiddling the unit on the cradle to get it to download or charge right.

I was worried after reading the reviews that it wasn't a garmin item and that it wouldn't fit. The one I got is a garmin and it fits perfectly like the original that came with the unit. Now I have one at work and one at home and I'm happy.

works just fine. I lost my other base but had the usb cable. I've tested with other standard usb cables and it works also. I'm guessing that's not the manufacture recommendation but haven't seen any difference. Kind of expensive but way cheaper than buying a new watch.
