Use hiking & mountain biking,
By Hoping for Coffee (Colorado) - See all my reviews One huge disappointment is that while the 201 shows current elevation, it does not sum your climb and descent. We live in mountainous Colorado, so it's particularly important to us. Since this is probably an easy fix, I keep HOPING for a software upgrade to add the feature. The Garmin cable to attach the unit to your computer does not have a USB option (which we need to connect it to our laptop), so we had to buy another cable to connect to that. Now we just need to figure out how to download our trips onto our simple NatGeo map software on our computer -- it's not simple to do this correctly. (I make maps for a living & my husband is a programmer, so we shouldn't find this so difficult.) The max speed display, despite many resets, typically shows speeds in excess of 100 mph. I don't walk quite that fast. Overall, it's a handy, basic gadget that I use frequently despite its shortcomings.
