The GPS 152i features the latest navigational technology with compatibility for the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). WAAS is an FAA-funded project to improve the overall accuracy and integrity of the GPS signal. It is a satellite-based system that broadcasts correction data as determined by ground reference stations. This system enhances accuracy of GPS positioning to about three meters, 95 percent of the time.
It is housed in a protective waterproof case and features a large 4-inch display. The high-contrast screen displays 100 x 160 pixels with adjustable backlighting for easy readability, while the well-positioned keypad on the bottom of the unit does not obstruct the display.
The GPS 152i receiver comes with internal GPS antenna, a gimbal mount, power/data cable, owner's manual, and quick reference guide. It is backed with a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

6,000 nautical miles later, it's still my primary gps,
This review is from: Garmin GPS 152 4-Inch Waterproof Marine GPS (Electronics)
To help you better understand my review: my approach to boat systems is KISS -- keep it simple stupid. I always have paper charts and have written directions to my destination showing directions of legs, distances, etc. If you're into bells & whistles, you'd be unhappy following me. If you're into highly functional stuff, that's me.
This GPS has taken me from from 44 degrees north to 13 degrees north and from 63 degrees west to 95 degrees west without fail. It feeds lat/long to the EPIRB, VHF, and SSB. I upload waypoints and download tracks with my laptop using Fugawi software. Enroute data is sent to the cockpit using a Clipper repeater. It does exactly what I want it to do with minimal space and minimal electrical consumption. As for ease of use, I've used several GPSs over the years. None of them are "intuitive." Some are much worse than others. This one is just fine.

I have found this unit to be difficult to use and would not reccomend it. Lowrance makes a much better and user friendly unit!
