Train Indoors or Out
In the gym or on the road, FR60 tracks all your workout data, including time, heart rate, calories burned, lap times and averages, and more. FR60 boasts advanced training tools, such as training alarms and Virtual Partner, which lets you race against a virtual training partner to improve your performance.
At the heart of its success is FR60's wireless ANT+ technology, which allows it to connect to other ANT+ compatible devices, like the included heart rate monitor, optional foot pod, or even ANT+ compatible fitness equipment.
Go for Distance
With the ANT+ seamless wireless link, FR60 connects to the optional wireless foot pod, which tracks your distance and speed effortlessly, both indoors and out. Using advanced accelerometer technology, the foot pod collects and sends precise data about your movements, gathering distance and speed data that is 98 percent accurate, right out of the box.
Listen to Your Heart
FR60 also connects wirelessly to a lightweight, flexible digital heart rate monitor, providing instant feedback about how hard you're working. FR60 continuously tracks heart beats per minute and displays your heart rate zone, so you can monitor and improve your fitness level.
Cross-Train
When paired with an optional speed/cadence sensor, FR60 tracks the speed and distance of your cycling workouts. The wireless speed/cadence sensor attaches securely to your bike and measures your pedaling cadence and wheel speed as you ride. You can even use it to train indoors because the sensor attaches to your rear wheel.
Sync and Share
Once you've logged the miles, FR60 automatically transfers data to your PC or Mac, wirelessly when in range. No cables, no hookups. The data is just there, ready for you to analyze, categorize and share through our online community, Garmin Connect.
Pick Your Form Factor
Males and females may train alike, but they have different preferences when it comes to watch styling. So, Garmin offers a men’s and women’s version of FR60 that differs only in size and color options. The men’s model, which weighs 1.6 ounces, comes in black or red on black. The women’s model, at 1.4 ounces, comes in black or lilac (shown here, 010-00743-41).

I just purchased the FR60 in lilac for myself (and the men's version for my husband). Currently we are using them for high intensity interval training. The set-up was a breeze. After researching several watches I chose these based on features, price, and brand. A must for us was to be able to upload the data to our computer and graph our heart rates for the intervals. Once we set up this feature using the ANT stick (which was a three step process completely outlined on the garmin website), we were able to do this. It's awesome. After a workout I just walk into our office and within 30 seconds a box pops up on my computer asking if i'd like to see the data online.
We chose these Garmin watches over similarly functioning and priced Polar watches due to the wireless capability. For the polar watches you have to buy an additional module that you physically have to place the watch on to upload the data. I know it sounds lazy, but I prefer to just leave my sweaty watch on my wrist! Lastly, I was concerned if the watch would fit me correctly since i have rather petite wrists. No problems there. Yes, it's bigger than my normal day-to-day watch, but i like having the larger screen to glance on while I workout.

Cheap Watch Band,
By treadmeister "jcj" (CA, USA) - See all my reviews

There was a review for this watch complaining it was not water resistant and water seeped through. It's NOT water resistant because it's not sold as such, but in the defense of that review, it is barely sweat resistant either. I loved this watch for it's functionality and design but as time has come to pass, the band is useless. About 9 months of daily use, the watch strap broke at the base of the watch. More like disintegrated.Because my watch was still under the 1 year warranty, Garmin said they would replace my watch with proper receipt and proof. I sent them my info along with the watch and never heard back. I called Garmin and they had said they received my watch with an apology. Still, time passed and no watch. I called again, and they apologized profusely that it was not sent, as clearly I should've received it within a month. Water under the bridge, I got a new watch. 3 months later, the watch strap keeper broke. I called Garmin to send another as I figured a new watch is still under warranty. They gave me a song and dance that they're not responsible for any repairs or parts since this is my 2nd watch. Not under warranty? For the first watch, not the 2nd. REALLY? So you don't stand by your products? After much grilling on my part, they relented and sent me ONE watch strap keeper in a huge bag. 2 months later, that 'new' watch strap keeper broke again, this time in 3 pieces and the current watch band is tearing at the bend where I clasp the buckle. The rubber is not supple enough for longterm flexibility hence the wear = tear. Getting back to the non-sweat proof factor -- I have never worn this watch in the water, shower, or ever mistakenly splashed it from the sink. However after a long run or workout, moisture will often accumulate under the face of the watch. Garmin needs to re-engineer their watch bands along with the watch. Functionality works well. Design works too. I like the big larger face for sporty stuff but once the band breaks, there goes the watch. There are no replacement parts. This FR60 should be a durable fitness/timepiece but fails under pressure.

Water Resistant? HA!,

This review is from: Garmin FR60 Lilac Fitness Watch (Includes Heart Rate Monitor and USB ANT Stick) (Electronics)
I received the FR60 for Christmas from my husband. For seven months I loved this watch, loved it as a heart rate monitor and loved it as a watch. (I don't run, so I didn't get the foot pad.) I loved being able to upload my time to the Garmin site. I was able to set goals (x number of hours a month of exercise) and see how close to goal I was. I could see my heart rate through an entire workout session, my average HR, my maximum HR, everything.
Then I wore my "resistant to 50 meters" watch in the pool. The shallow end. Water somehow seeped in and ruined the watch. Garmin will be more than happy to replace the watch for $100 because water damage is not covered. Water damage to a watch you're supposed to be able to wear in the water is not covered? I only wore the watch to work out, I never banged it or damaged it in any way. I'm giving it one star because I think that's ridiculous. So, if you plan on never getting it wet, maybe this is the watch for you. Or maybe you want something that's higher quality. I won't be replacing it with another Garmin product, you can bet on that.
