My wife and I use this with our small HP notebook when traveling and it works perfectly. We have had the product for 6 months and we have yet to see it do something wrong. I especially like the clear voice and the calling out of the street names. In our travels, there were times when I would (temporarily) lose my way when in an unknown area or city. Me, being the proud idiot that I am, I don't ask for directions. There were times when my wife would (understandibly) get so frustrated with me as we drove around or stared at a map trying to figure out our destination. Our Garmin makes life much easier. Now we can go somewhere and we know we are being directed correctly and there are no emotions wasted on stupid things like how to get where we are going. This product is a definite improvement in our world. I am glad that we went bluetooth with our HP notebook rather than getting stand-alone because of four things: the larger screen, the full size keyboard, the extra software searches you can do and the trip planning capabilites. It is very easy to use. Don't forget to make sure you have bluetooth to your computer when you are ordering it. Ours is a: HP Pavilion dm3-3010us 13.3-Inch Laptop PC - Up to 7.5 Hours of Battery Life (Black). Highly recommended.

Easy to install and use. Good thing that I bought the bluetooth adapter at the same time for the PC.

This software is just like having a Zumo or Nuvi on your laptop. Same details and input plus all the extras you can add from the Garmin website. It has the online service to lookup fuel prices, near by restaurants or shopping as long as you have an Internet connection via a data card or tethered to your cellphone. I use this in my motorhome on a Asus laptop with a 16" monitor. Worth every penny.

Garmin has dumbed down their laptop GPS app so it is only as useful as the little dashboard versions, except you still get to use a keyboard instead of having to scroll, and of course you have a decent size screen. It is a big disappointment after using Garmin's nRoute with a USB 18 for 5 years. Unfortunately, Garmin no longer issues map updates for that superb program.

The only reason I gave it any stars at all is the bluetooth GPS receiver is both highly accurate and very convenient to use. All the problems are in the software.
