For some reason, the photo for this product does not match what the actual item is. The written description is correct, though. It is the replacement cable/speaker needed for your Garmin GPS system. It is identical to my original cable/speaker, which had broken (the metal prongs no longer made proper contact with the unit). My original cable no longer fit tightly into the unit--hopefully, that won't happen with this cable which seems to have a good, tight fit into the unit. This item (which cannot be obtained on the Garmin website or in any stores they list as carrying their products--I checked) works perfectly and seems reasonably priced.

Extremely poor design and is of very poor quality. This product is a power cord for a GPS that cost $1,150. Unfortunately, to use the GPS you have to purchase a new one periodically, since the only other alternative is to purchase a new GPS. They don't last very long. Garmin should send us new ones at no cost.

After FIVE years of service, my Garmin 2610 factory orginal speaker/power cord developed a broken wire "short" near the connector. Consulted the factory and web-site. Their offering was significantly MORE $$$. Garmin customer service representative 'helped' me find alternative offerings. THIS unit is an EXCELLENT direct replacement for the Garmin 2610/2620 series 'Street Pilots' and others. THIS unit's speaker provides even BETTER audio quality than the factory original. These GPS models are NO LONGER being manufactured, so I thought replacement parts MIGHT be difficult to obtain. THIS power cord IS what the Doctor ordered!!

The item I received was the product that was pictured and was the one I was expecting. Received in secure packaging and in good condition. Arrived a little sooner than I expected, which was much appreciated since my old cord was going bad and I needed it quickly but didn't want to pay extra for fast-shipping.

The item is exactly what I wanted. Brand new in its original OEM packaging. I expedited shipping and it came in just as described. I am very pleased with the purchase and the service, Great Job !!!

This new cable is great! I have been struggling with a loose cable for years! My old cable just didn't fit snug at the contact port and every time I went over a bump, my friend Garmina, as I call her, would disconnect. Well, not any more. Garmina talks to her hearts content with never an interruption. And the cost of this new speaker cable was so inexpensive compared to buying a new Garmin which I was prepared to do.

I'm concerned about it. I replaced the original because the unit kept quitting due to an apparent loose wire? I thought a new cord would solve the problem. But it did cut out today. Maybe it was just a 'fluke.' We'll see.

12/31/11 I have been using the new cable for a few months now. If something jars the adapter in the dashboard socket, the unit cuts out. Sometimes it comes back on by itself, other times not. I think it is just a bad patent! I am not very happy with it, as I never know when it is going to cut out. Garmin should do better than this.

This was a great value for the money. It works better than the original. Made of fine quality, and great value.

the power adapter fits more snug then the original. This fits the 2600 series and amazon photo does not match. 8 little connectors in the power slide in piece. It's a little muffled when sound is at full power. I still give it five stars though.
