4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent if you know what you're ordering
I ordered the Garmin slipcase with some trepidation after reading the negative review here. It is indeed a slipcase, but what I was looking for was a case that offers protection without bulk, and this fills the bill. All the other generic cases I've seen are bulkier than this one.

The case is well-made with a good quality padded leather front and back. The sides are...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's An Open Top Slipcase
It's not what I thought it would be. It does not have a belt clip. Nor is it fully enclosed. It has a nice quality cover for the front and back. The sides are elastic so that it expands when you slide the unit in. Consequently, the top is exposed. I also discovered a tendency to press the record button when pulling the unit out. However, I have not had that problem ever...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's An Open Top Slipcase, January 30, 2004

It's not what I thought it would be. It does not have a belt clip. Nor is it fully enclosed. It has a nice quality cover for the front and back. The sides are elastic so that it expands when you slide the unit in. Consequently, the top is exposed. I also discovered a tendency to press the record button when pulling the unit out. However, I have not had that problem ever since I started inserting the unit top first leaving the bottom exposed instead. Also this protects the media card from being ejected by accident. The case does the job of protecting the Garmin from scratches. Fits in a pocket nicely.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Designed and Overpriced, April 8, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Garmin iQue 3600 Carrying Case (Office Product)
This is a leather slipcase with elastic sides so you slide your iQue into it from the top. You pretty much have to jam it in to get it all the way in so it's difficult to insert or retrieve your iQue. And you must remove it from the case to use or charge it. It's so poorly designed that it's hard not to push the power button or side record button when putting it in or getting it out. And at $19 it is way overpriced, even at half that price it wouldn't be worth it. The iQue is a great device and deserves a better designed and more functional case. Don't buy this one or you'll return it like me.

The sides are elastic to allow a snug fit for the slightly wedge-shaped iQue. I haven't had any problems with removing the iQue without pressing the record button--it just requires a bit more care. It would also have been nice to have a flap to close over the top of the case. The open top leaves the card slot exposed. But overall I'm very pleased with the compactness and quality of this case.

It is a slipcase. You can not take the iQue out without pressing the REC button.

This item does what it says, but not as well as many others. The iQue slides in, but then becomes unusable. There are other cases with a design that allows for the protection, but you do not have to remove the case in order to use the iQue.

If you do not care about having to remove the device to use it, however, it is a quality case. Well constructed, and a good grade of leather.

4.0 out of 5 stars OK product, but not bad either, January 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Garmin iQue 3600 Carrying Case (Office Product)
This carrying case will make pulling your Garmin iQue 3600 out of the carrying case a very difficult task. As you pull your GPS unit out of the carrying case, you will accidentally press the record button almost everytime. However, I think the intent of the designers of this product was to make sure your GPS unit does not slip out of the carrying case, which explains why it is so difficult to pull your GPS out of the case due to its tightness. The case is thick enough to protect your iQue from being dropped if the bottom or the sides hits the ground first. It may not protect your GPS if you accidentally drop it with the top side hitting the ground first since the top side is fully open and is not covered. It would have been nice to have a permanent or detachable belt clip making it a waist holster. This is a not a fancy product. Just a very basic holster to cover and protect your Garmin iQue GPS.

I would have given this product 5 stars if it wasn't too tight and not too difficult to pull your GPS unit out of it. I would not recommend this product if your intention is to protect the screen. If that's the case, you're better off purchasing a replacement screen cover which can be installed and attached very easily. Otherwise, if you want to fully cover and protect your iQue I'd recommend this product.
