4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent beginner GPS
I have used my trusty little Geko 201 for over 3 years and it has performed flawlessly. It's a suuper entry level GPS and very accurate. I would reccomend this unit to one & all. I'm the proud new owner of a Garmin 60csx and I still pack along my 201 for a backup!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good GeoCaching Model For Beginners
I bought this GPS for myself. Being the size of a smaller bar style cell phone, with the buttons on the face and the screen being smaller than average, I found it to be a little troublesome for my bearclaw hands. My wife used it with no problem so I gave it to her and bought my self the E-Trex. All in all I would suggest this model for a teen age hunter or geocacher.

5.0 out of 5 stars GPS made easy for newbies, December 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Garmin Geko 201 -- the smallest and lightest WAAS-enabled GPS navigators (010-00318-00) (Electronics)
As a skeptic about GPS, I bought the Geko only for marking maintenance needs on hiking trails. I found it was fun to play with, too. It is about the most reliable way to test the speed of my canoes, and navigating in featureless aquatic environments such as bays and estuaries is a cinch. Although I will probably continue to rely on map and compass for hiking and backpacking, I'm glad to have the expanded capabilities of the Geko.
