5.0 out of 5 stars Desert Comfort, April 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Used these boots exclusively for a contract job in Iraq. Once they were broken in, they felt very light weight and very comfortable over rocky, sandy, and sometimes muddy terrain. My socks always stayed bone-dry, even when I intentionally soaked my feet in a puddle to give them a test. If someone hadn't stole them in Costa Rica then I probably would be enjoying my third year and third trip to the desert with these boots, but since that did happen, I am here to buy another pair. Hope this helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and comfortable but not the most durable, April 22, 2010

These boots fit very well and required very little breaking in. They're lightweight and great for general hiking and for trekking over everyday snowy ground. After about a year and a half, though, the sole had become very thin and began to delaminate. The good thing is that Garmont has a very good warranty and great customer service. I had the boots sent back to Garmont, and four weeks or so later they had sent me a free replacement pair (of the next boot up in their line, the Sitka, since they were out of Flash III boots for the next few months!).

5.0 out of 5 stars very good light weight all around boot!!, August 28, 2009
I purchased these boots a little while back and i have loved them since i put them on. They might not be the best boot for extended hikes but for a good dayhike or just a everyday wearing boot these wear great. They are a little shorter cut boot but still give plenty ankle support, and what i love about them they are very light weight but very durable feeling. I love the vibram soles they are not too agressive and clean out faily easily but still with ample traction in conditions that demand it. If your looking for a good all around/approch/day hike boot i highly suggest. If your looking for an extreme hiker might want to keep looking. Hope this helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars good boots, December 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are comfortable boots. The materials inside and out appear to be durable and of high quality. I also purchased the low cut shoe which I found to be more comfortable. I also own shoes from Merrell, Vasque, and Asolo. I would put these boots on a class with my Asolo FSN 95 gore-tex boots, durable and waterproof. Compared to my Merrell MOAB gore-tex XCR, I would say the Garmont's are the much better quality shoe.

4.0 out of 5 stars These boots are made for hiking, August 10, 2009
On dayhikes and weekend backpack trips in Wyoming's Wind River Range this summer, these boots were comfortable from the first wearing. They provide superb ankle and arch support which is worth their (light) weight.
