Actually performs to the level of the description!,
This review is from: Garmont Men's Sitka Plus GTX Boot (Apparel)
I picked these up as an impulse buy prior to a 15 mile hike in the Rockies. A recently sprained and still weak ankle made me too nervous to trust my normal mid-cut trail shoes. I was really worried about not breaking them in first and getting all kinds of blisters as a result, but I had absolutely zero issues in that area and my feet weren't even sore after 8 hours of grueling hike. I stomped through a 6-8" deep stream for about 30 min at one point, and not one drop got into my Sitkas. Considering how sturdy and tough the boots are, they are surprisingly light and great for a long hike. I also never felt my feet sweating, despite some unseasonably high temperatures. At the price Amazon is charging, they are really solid bang for the buck.

I was looking for a backup pair of boots for my hunt in New Mexico this past September. The weather was going to range from 40-80 degrees. As a result i was looking for a comfortable boot that was lightweight and able to handle 7-15 miles a day. This boot switched from my backup to my main pair. They were awesome. Beefy but ultra light could not have been happier. No breakin period even needed. Highly recommend!
