Garmont Vetta L,
This review is from: Garmont Men's Vetta Lite GTX Approach Shoe (Apparel)
Overall, I am psyched about these boots. I have tried many hiking boots, and these were by far the most comfortable of them all. Very light and fairly flexible. The lacing system is unique in allowing adjustment to various parts of the foot. Right out of the box, I knew my feet would be comfortable for a two day hike starting the next day. When we finished the two day backpacking trip, my companions were very quick to remove their boots and inspect their blisters, while my feet were so comfortable I preferred to leave my boots on. Although the outsole tread does't look very agressive, it got a great grip on most surfaces. For a more agressive tread, look at the Garmont Vetta Hike, but I think those would sacrifice on the weight and flexibility.

I bought these for 3 season hiking/backpacking. They were very uncomfortable right out of the box, very flat insole and absolutely no arch support. I tried putting an insole in to help with arch support and that just created more problems in the toe box. Then I tried just wearing them thinking that maybe they just needed broken in, took them on a small hike, stepped in a puddle, and my right foot got soaked. I would not recommend these to anyone who is going to do any serious outdoot activity. I just hope that I can return them.
