5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this movie on Garth Brooks!!!!!!!, April 5, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Garth Brooks [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I watched this video today called, "Garth Brooks" & it was a good movie.

It had three videos including The Dance, If Tomorrow Never Comes & The Thunder Rolls. In the video "The Dance" it had dead people including John F. Kennedy, John Wayne, Keith Whitley & Lorrie Morgan & also bull rider Lane Frost (Luke Perry, 8 Seconds) at The National Finals Rodeo in Las, Vegas.

I enjoyed this movie on Garth Brooks!!!!!!!

This includes never seen interview footage of Garth discussing how & why each video was made. Also - Live Performance Footage & this is great!!!!!!!!!!

I loved this video!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Garth speaks, sings, and acts, February 23, 2005
This review is from: Garth Brooks [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Garth is in his late 20s in this film, speaking at length about the three videos presented, his early years and the time he heard his first single played on the radio, the legacy he will leave behind and his goals, the risks worth taking, and his music in general; there are also excerpts from live performances of "Not Counting You" (G. Brooks), "Much Too Young" (R. Taylor/ G. Brooks), and "Friends in Low Places" (D. Blackwell/ B. Lee).
Total running time is a very short 30 minutes, but what you do get is first rate.

The videos:
1: "The Dance" (Tony Arata). Shows clips of people no longer with us, predominantly President Kennedy (poignantly shown with his son, John), Martin Luther King, and John Wayne. It's a beautiful song, with much meaning.
"Yes, my life is better left to chance,
I could have missed the pain, but I'd of had to miss the dance".

2: "If Tomorrow Never Comes" (K. Blazy/ G. Brooks). Garth's first video, made under a tight budget, and filmed in sepia tones; family and friends take part in it, including his wife Sandy, who looks lovely in a strapless summer dress.
"So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes".

3: "The Thunder Rolls" (P. Alger/ G. Brooks). One of my favorite songs Garth has written (and he's written some great ones), this is about a cheating man who gets his due, and Garth plays the villain with some additions in the hair/beard department.
"The thunder rolls, and the lightning strikes
Another love grows cold, on a sleepless night
As the storm rolls on, out of control
Deep in her heart, the thunder rolls".
