A Great Resource !, October 14, 2009
This review is from: Gary Goldschneider's Everyday Astrology (Paperback)
Upside: To say I am selective concerning Astrology books is on target. You see I had read one of the best Astrology books written, Sun Signs by Linda Goodman, in my teen years (circa late 1970's) and no one has come close to improving on her work in my opinion. Until now.
I enjoyed reading Everyday Astrology by Gary Goldschneider. This book is destined for my desk where I can reference it easily. I found it to be easy to read, easy to understand. Here let me show you...
As I thumbed through Everyday Astrology, I noticed the book was broken into sections and then into lean paragraphs. I had seen this formatting of information somewhere else. Yes, you guessed it in Linda's book. In the last paragraph of his Introduction, Gary tells us that not since Linda Goodman's Sun Signs , published in the late 1960's, has a book been published with this concept and formatting. Thank you Gary for acknowledging Linda.
Everyday Astrology gives you exactly what it claims to...bits of information to help you everyday. The bits of information are broken into sections. Sections that are viable in today's world. Here is an example, `Aries ~ Work, Love, Friends & Family'. Now Gary could have stopped here. I mean `Aries ~ Work' what more could there be? How about a subsection about `The Aries Boss' or even <gasp> `Asking the Aries Boss for a Raise'? Yes, Gary tells us how to ask for a raise and what our chances are for success.
Just what the overworked reader needs...information that is quick to find and easy to read yet makes an impact in their life. Let's say you want a keyword to sum up an Aries Boss. Gary has provided 'Strengths~Weaknesses~Interactive Style' as a keyword section (located in the sidebar for each section). Each sidebar section have three focus words, which I find great for reflection.
Gary writes about each sign and the parts they play in our life with the strength of knowledge based on years in this field yet his words do not leave you feeling `oh my goodness I wish I was a(n) ....', as some Astrology books seem to do. Gary shows that not one sign is better than another sign. And we can use Astrology to better our understanding of others, not to manipulate them but to allow everyone to have a better Now.
Downside: The book cover has general keywords for each sign in color below the Astrological symbol. This was the only part of the book I did not care for. Why? The font size is small especially when in color on a dark gray background. Hard to read.
Bottom-line: A great reference tool. Enjoyable read.
Disclosure: This is a non-paid review.

The Most Useful Sun-Sign Astrology Book Ever!, August 29, 2009
This review is from: Gary Goldschneider's Everyday Astrology (Paperback)
I just received this book and it is another stellar acheivement for Gary Goldschneider, who has revolutionozed Astrology with his modern Personology approach.
Personology is the missing link between the science of astronomy and the art of astrology. By basing his findings on his study of the lives of over 20,000 ACTUAL people, Gary's writing is defined by reality rather than the stars.
Although Mr. Goldschneider writes about Personology within the easily accessible framework of astrology, do not think this material is at all similar to typical astrology text. It is based on his multi-decade study of real people.
This book is a handbook on how to approach people based on THEIR personality traits rather than yours. This is a completely new way to look at your relationships and promises to work wonders in certain situations. It is not enough to act in a way that makes sense to you if it does not make sense to your boss, for example. Once you understand your boss, you are better able to help yourself. There is really useful stuff in here!

Who Couldn't Use Some Help!, October 17, 2009
This review is from: Gary Goldschneider's Everyday Astrology (Paperback)
Back in high school, I was all about my horoscope and Astrology. I was really into it and it was always on target for me. After reading a few bad (way off) horoscopes, I stopped following them so when I heard about the new book by Gary Goldschneider, "Everyday Astrology" I was skeptical. I am glad I gave the book a chance though as it is a really insightful book that I enjoyed.
Gary Goldschneider is a Best-Selling Author who also wrote "The Secret Language of Birthdays" and "The Secret Language of Relationships." I have not read either but since I enjoyed this book, I will definitely be checking them out. "Everyday Astrology" is a complete guide to understanding and improving every relationship in your life, by providing detailed advice for interacting with others from every sun sign. I would have to say my favorite part of the book is that it is formatted so well making it super easy to read and reference. The book is even broken down into 3 sections per sign: Work, Love, and Friends & Family.
"Everyday Astrology" covers tons of scenarios ranging from work to love to family and friends. Some of the topics include: How to approach a Leo boss for a raise, How to break up with a Scorpio boyfriend, How to make a great impression on a Capricorn first date, How to survive the holidays with a Pisces parent, and so much more! The sidebar also mentions each signs Strengths, Weaknesses, and Interactive Styles.
Now you don't have to be into horoscopes to appreciate this book as it really does give great advice and aims at helping you make decisions better. I mean who doesn't need help with their feelings, sex life, surviving the holidays, and money! I am always looking for any ideas and suggestions and this book really hit me as a Virgo pretty close! Whether you want to read more about yourself, your significant other, or how to deal with someone of a particular sun sign, this book can't hurt!
