This is the most incredible book I have ever seen. It has images and descriptions of virtually every installation, video tape, and performance Gary Hill has ever done. The details are great. For each installation there is a description of the installation, a description of the materials involved, the number of editions and who bought them, a list of literature about the piece, and it's exhibition history. Plus one or more pictures for almost all of the pieces. There is similar information for the tapes and performances.To top it all off there are also several essays about Gary and his work plus additional photos from a large exhibition in Wolfsburg Germany, where the catalog was compiled. If you want a book about Gary Hill, this is THE book to get. |
