His best CD to date,
By Noneya (Bury st. Edmunds, uk) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gary Jules (Audio CD)
I love this CD. You get a sense of introspection from Gary about his life. Gary pens some brilliant lines, such as "Woke last night in the middle of a combat zone, Helicopters hovering over my home..." from "Gone Daddy."Too often, one buys a CD and hears one or two songs that they really like and the others are fillers. This is not the case with Gary's CDs. There is not a single song that doesn't feel like it came straight from Gary's heart. He lays it out the way he sees life and leaves it to others to interpret their meaning. He is an intelligent artist, who cares more about his artistry over creating a catchy pop tune. Gary is never disappointing. This is his best CD to date. Can't wait to see what he comes out with next.

Gary Jules does it again. This CD is another of my all-time favorites. When I first got it (a few years back at a show) I did not take the CD out of the car player for quite a few months. Every song from the 1st to the last was fantastic. Falling Awake, Andulicia Whiskey For Everybody, Sepent in Claw and Little Greenie are so beautiful. Devil Keeps Grinning and Gone Daddy - have such a good beat and tell a great story. Again, great songwriter, great musician and awesome vocals!!!Go see him live also - he puts on a great show!!! Soft and thoughful,
By Garrison Geary (Maine) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gary Jules (Audio CD)
I really enjoy Gary Jules work and I wish his star would rise a bit higher. It's sad to see so few ratings. That being said, I would like to say that this is my favorite of his, but really it's tied with Trading Snakeoil, although I find the two to be enormously different pieces of work. This piece has a much softer tone, perfect and relaxing. At the same time it still challenges the intellect. A good buy for anyone who enjoys acoustic and folky music. Wish they would put his work on vinyl!
