This CD has excellent quality, and lack of quality can sometimes scare one away from Curb. This was one of the first CDs I purchased back in 1996, and remains the favorite. I usually purchase Bill Ingot's work from Rhino, but this, to me, sounds even better. Everyone has their favorites, but as an oldies collector with lots of Rhino's, this, in my opinion, is the best sounding CD I own.

As a newcomer to the world of Gary Lewis and the Playboys (an Eighties child am I), I must say that this music has really grown on me.

My father bought me this album about a year ago, because I had the song "Everybody Loves a Clown" stuck in my head (and that's the kind of guy he is).

Needless to say, it was a fantastic gift, and I still pop this collection in my CD player every now and again to listen to their hits. There are songs on here I hadn't heard on the "Oldies" radio station, such as "Sure Gonna Miss Her" and "Green Grass." These are little jewels amidst a fine collection of Playboy hits. It's sing-along music, and I love it!

This disc represents the "cream of the cream" for Gary Lewis & the Playboys. While not as expansive as the Legendary Masters disc, it nonetheless includes their most prominant work. This is terrific stuff and if given a serious listen, the sophistication (musically, technically, and even lyrically)comes through loud and clear.

All original versions of the band's pop hits, and they had a lot of them!

Great hits like This Diamond Ring and Count Me In can't be turned away from.

Oh Gary, someone will want to buy that "Diamond Ring," and though "Everybody Loves A Clown" (like your pop Jerry), there's still enough spark and sixties guitar to make you & your Playboys worth listening to!

I bought this CD for my wife since Gary Lewis & the Playboys were here favorite group back in the day.
She and I listen to it when we're traveling around.
This CD is fantastic and brings back great memories.
It's a reminder of how great the 60's were.

With a mere ten tracks and a playing time of only like 24 minutes, this seems like a budget CD. That may be O.K. if you ARE on a budget and see it for cheap, but I'd say it's not that good of a buy otherwise. All of the tracks included are good, but the Greatest Hits title is somewhat misleading; the version of "Sure Gonna Miss Her" is not the hit version, and the group (or was it Gary as a solo?) also had another Top 20 record, "Jill," that isn't included here. If you're not on a budget (or at least not that tight of a budget) and want a REALLY good single-disc Playboys compilation, get the Legendary Masters Series CD (from 1990) or the more recent, but also deceptively titled, Complete Hits (which is an import from the Philippines; you'd probably have to pay more for it). They don't have all of the same songs as each other, but both have MANY more tracks than this CD (Legendary Masters has 25; Complete Hits, 31), including the actual hits featured here as well as the hit version of "Sure Gonna Miss Her." Legendary Masters also includes "Jill."

Just listened to This Diamond Ring. Fantastic! In the 60's used to hear it on the radio so many times! The lyrics and melody is fantastic. Never get tired of hearing it.

I purchased this CD for my older sister. Although I find the music to be simple and kind of dull, she liked it and said it brought back old memories.
