Gary Null has guided and inspired entire generations of Americans to adopt healthier living habits. Now, in this revolutionary book, Null outlines a master plan for anyone searching for a healthier, more natural way of looking at food.

Here, Gary Null has created a comprehensive eating plan built on a foundation of his 15 Power Foods. He explains in detail the unique nutritional powers and attributes each food holds, and offers hundreds of delicious recipes that incorporate as many Power Foods as possible. A menu plan shows you how to make the most of meals throughout the day-breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, appetizers, beverages, and more. Gary also discusses healthful eating habits, like the benefits of organic, whole, raw, and vegan eating.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Prolific health writer Gary Null (7 Steps to Perfect Health, The Joy of Juicing, Gary Null's Power Aging) offers 301 recipes that revolve around 15 "power foods," chosen for their health benefits and versatility: blueberries, onions, shiitake mushrooms, almonds, oranges, bananas, garlic, ginger, legumes, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, leafy greens, soy and whole grains. The dishes run the gamut, though beverages such as the fruit-laden Revitalizer Juice and the Cholesterol Buster, packed with 10 stalks of celery, account for almost a third of the book. Many of the dishes, especially the beverages, call for vitamin and mineral supplements and virtually all of the desserts are sweetened with agave, which could prove frustrating for those who aren't located near a well-stocked health food store. Vegetarians and vegans will find much to like about the book, which is completely devoid of dairy, meat and wheat-based ingredients. Even those who aren't on a strict diet will find dishes like Cambodian Soba Peanut Noodles and Parsnip Black Bean Soup worthwhile.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cook Book on how to prepare most nutrious foods, January 28, 2007
While I completely agree with the authors concept of the 15 most nutritious foods to eat, I am disappointed at there only being 26 pages of actual information on why they are the best. The rest of the book gives you 300 recipes (That sound delicious)that you can use to create a healthy diet. The book is written for vegans with no animal products in any of the recipes. The pictures in the middle of the book make the meals look great. In the back of the book you will find a 7 day eating plan.
The 15 power foods are almonds, oranges, bananas, blueberries, onions, garlic, ginger, legumes, carrots, peppers, shiitake mushrooms, tomatoes, leafy greens, soy, and whole grains.

I recommend buying this book as a cook book after reading Gary Null's other books or after reading "Super Foods RX" by Steven Pratt his book goes into far more detail about why these foods are the best, "Super Foods RX" was a life changing book for me. This one is a cook book.
