5.0 out of 5 stars SOME OF THE TIGHTEST . . . EVER MADE!
If you like the We$t Coa$t sound or you're a C-Bo fan, then let me assure you this is not only the tightest CD C-Bo has or ever will make, but it is also one of the tightest RAP CDs to ever grace the racks in CD stores. Songs like "Gas Chamber," "Liquor Sto," "Bald-Head Nut," and "Chronic Conference" are some of the tightest...

If you like the We$t Coa$t sound or you're a C-Bo fan, then let me assure you this is not only the tightest CD C-Bo has or ever will make, but it is also one of the tightest RAP CDs to ever grace the racks in CD stores. Songs like "Gas Chamber," "Liquor Sto," "Bald-Head Nut," and "Chronic Conference" are some of the tightest joints to EVER bless wax! If you ain't knowin' then study up on a playa 'cuz this album is hot! It's extremely hard to find as being a Sacremento native, he actually made this album while staying in Seattle, Washington. So, if you ever get a chance... BUY IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Debut, November 29, 2004
By
This review is from: Gas Chamber (Audio CD)
C-Bo delivers a debut that is a classic and one of his top 3 albums to date (out of 13+). There is no song on here that I skip and easily listen to it from start to finish (except for the 2 skits) and it has 2 or 3 classics on here as well as about 7 high quality songs. Since this release over 11 years ago (as of 12/04) he has released over a dozen albums and is a big name in the northern Califonia rap scene. Mike Mosely and Sam Bostic drop some tight beats through the album and C-Bo (and only him unlike on his newer albums) delivers some tight lyrics. A definite must have album for west coast gangsta rap fans from a true gangsta from the Garden Block.

#1 - 10 (classic about a black '64)
#2 - 9
#3 - 9
#4 - 8
#5 - 9.5
#6 - 9 (about going to the the liquor sto')
#7 - 7 (good song but the annoying chorus brings it down)
#8 - 10 (classic song)
#9 - 8.5
#10 - 8.5
#12 - 7

4.0 out of 5 stars Hardcore, February 20, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Gas Chamber (Audio CD)
This is one of the most ground breaking debuts albums that came out of the West coast underground in the early 90s. This album is not C-BO's best work, but a must have for all C-BO fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gangsta Funk Rap, July 1, 2011
By
dardew (louisville, ky) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gas Chamber (Audio CD)
The bulk of my music collection consists of Jazz, Fusion, Jazz Rock, Classic Rock and Brazilian Samba/Bossa Nova. I am an occasional listener of rap and hip hop with a limited collection consisting basically of Tribe/Q Tip, Organized Confusion, The Pharcyde, Trendz Of Culture and other groups of that genre that are of a similar creativity level. The Gas Chamber sits at the top with what I would classify as "Gangsta Funk Rap". Taking into consideration of all the different genres in my collection, this is one of my favorites albums with only 1, sometimes 2 songs I will skip over. My favorite gem in this jewelry box is "Shots Out" with a tempo 1/2 beat slower (featuring a very funky synth base) than it's father, the intro to Roy Ayers "Everybody Loves The Sunshine". I never knew a simple holla at your homies could be so much funky fun. This is certainly one of the funkiest rap album of all time, and by no means has C-Bo since disappointed, but this is his best outing by far. C-Bo certainly went overboard taking heed to the saying, "You only have one shot to make a good first impression".
