The retention indices presented in this book provide reliable and comparable analytical data to facilitate identification of drugs and other toxic organic substances. They are the result of an intensive search and have been obtained with acceptable procedures on the low-polarity dimethylsilicone stationary phases SE-30 or OV-1, which should be used preferentially as liquid phases for drug identification. The goal of the book is to provide more reliable data for analyzing ''general unknowns'' than is available in the literature. This book was prepared under the auspices of the Committee for Systematic Toxicological Analysis of the International Association of Forensic Toxicologists and is published jointly with the German Science Foundation.
